National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration: Admission 2024, Fees, New Delhi

National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), a premiere organisation was established in the year 1962 by the Ministry of Education (Formerly known as Ministry of Human Resource Development), Government of India. It deals with capacity building and research in planning and management of education in India as well as South Asia. The institute got Deemed to be University status in August, 2006. NIEPA is fully maintained by the Government of India and is accredited by NAAC with “A” grade.

Vision: The vision of the institute is to emerge as a humane learning society by achieving advanced knowledge.

Mission: It promotes advanced level teaching, research, and capacity building nationally and internationally to become a center of excellence in educational policy, planning and management.

NIEPA offers Diploma, Doctorate, and M.Phil level courses. Both full time and part time Ph D. programs are offered by the institute. The multiple programs run by the institute are headed under the following departments.

Interested candidates who want to enroll to the institute must be aware that the admissions are based on the criteria stated by the institution considering the guidelines and norms laid by UGC and other statutory/regulatory bodies. It is to be noted that the reservation policy is also taken into account while admitting students at the institute. Admissions to the institute for Ph.D Courses are given on consideration of the below stated points:

• Students are allowed for admission through an entrance exam conducted by NIEPA.
• Candidates who qualify for fellowship/ scholarship in UGC-NET/ UGC and equivalent national level tests based on an interview.
• 5% relaxation for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ differently abled category, EWS, and other categories will be allowed in the entrance examination as per the decision of UGC.
• 70% weightage is given to marks of entrance test and 30% to interview.

Note: NIEPA will decide the number of eligible students to be called for an interview with respect to the available seats at the institute.

Candidates are required to apply online for admission to part time and full time Ph.D courses. Students before applying for the entrance exam conducted by the institute must first check the eligibility criteria for the courses they want to pursue.
