Established in the year 1995, Sarvodaya College of Nursing Bangalore came into existence for providing higher education to students to create a career in the area of Paramedical. The college has affiliation with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science and Indian Nursing Council. The motive behind starting the college is to promote nursing education that is important in the health care system. It also aims to help in the growth of research in the nursing field.
This institute started by offering the Diploma course in nursing, later it spread to the other areas such as B.Sc (Nursing) in 1998, PC B.Sc (N) in 2010 and M.Sc (Nursing) in 2002. Its aim is to prepare nurses from all part of India and abroad for meeting the challenges in the nursing field. This nursing college works on developing its students to cultivate the skills of critically analyzing problems and holding active responsibility throughout their career. Presently, the management of the college is working under the guidance of Prof T. Bheemappa (Principal).
Admission procedure requires a B.Sc (Nursing) pursuing candidate to have scored 50% or more marks in total of 4 subjects such as English, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics given the students clears each subject individually. For M.Sc (Nursing) candidates should be a holder of a B.Sc (Nursing) Degree of the same university or any other recognised university along with a minimum of 55% marks in total. Also, the candidate should have one year of experience after completing B.Sc (Nursing). Further, applying candidate should be physically fit.
Students should have a minimum of 80% attendance in theory and clinical/ practical separately in all subjects in each academic year for appearing in the examination. Sarvodaya School of Nursing Bangalore received the title of Best Nursing College in Karnataka because of its infrastructure, highly trained faculties, internship programs & corporate training, and facilities such as labs and library.
The college has a large extensive library that has a collection of a large stock of books on nursing.
