Indian Institute of Teacher Education

There is a “Department of Placement” in the university, which works to nurture teachers for tomorrow and who are competent to teach any curriculum and in any language. To accomplish its objective, the department is engaged in activities like, Training in School management, Soft Skills, Opportunities in Education Sector, CV Writing & Interview Skills, and more. There is a Separate Placement Portal of the University called, “Aditya (Accomplishing Dreams for Indian Teachers and Yearning Administrators). The placements of the students are conducted through this portal. The alumni of the university are teachers in several reputed universities in India and abroad.

IITE campus was set-up on 12 acres of land in the Green city, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The campus is less than 1 kilometer away from Gandhinagar Capital Railway station. The total built-up area of the campus is 6212 square meters with state-of-the-art teaching and accommodation facilities available for students. There are 26 classrooms, a seminar hall, communication lab, etc ICT enabled academic facilities to support students’ learning in the campus. Besides these, there are some other facilities for the comfortable living and overall development of the students which are described briefly in the points below:

• Library: Shree Kireet Joshi Library is the Central library of the university, stocking a vast collection of learning resources in different disciplines. Students can access e-journals, e-books, apps, and other educational resources, as the library has subscribed to INFLIBNET. The services available for readers in the library include Reference Service, Printing Service, Inter Library Loan Service, etc.
• Medical Facilities: A medical centre with a full-time residential doctor is open in the campus to provide primary medical services to students and staff. The Civil Hospital in Gandhinagar is 5km from the university campus. Emergency cases, if any, are transferred to the hospital within a few minutes. For mental health issues, counseling centers exist for students.
• Computer Labs: To perform various experiments and to provide practical knowledge to students, there are two fully equipped computer labs present in the campus. Each lab comprises of 50 computers, projector etc.
• Hostel Mess: To provide daily meals to the hostlers, a kitchen and mess known by the name “Satvik” is opened in the university premise. It is equipped with the modern appliances and machines to serve delicious and nutritious meals to students and staff. The mess is fully air-conditioned so that students can enjoy their meals comfortably in summer as well.
• Sports: There is a multi-purpose playground in the campus where students can play games like football, volleyball, cricket, etc. Students perform exercises in this playground.
• Transportation: The University operates four buses for students and staff. The services of buses are available for academic purposes only.
• Other Facilities: Amphitheatre (Abhivyakti), Samwad - The Meeting Place, Innovation Center, Auditorium (Prof. Chunilal Vaidhya), Audio Visual Center, etc.
