The Rungta University campus covers a land area of more than 80 acres and has a built-up area of approximately 15,00,000 square feet. The entire premise is Wi-Fi enabled so that students can easily access the online course materials and learn collaboratively.
At the Rungta University, CCTVs are installed and other security measures like biometric readers, smart cards, fire warning systems are available to ensure the safety of the students. The major amenities offered to the students include smart classrooms, libraries, laboratories, auditoriums, seminar halls, cafeteria, hostel, sports, gym, medical, transportation, and the list continues.

Academic Facilities
The premise of the University has various academic blocks wherein modern smart classrooms with smart boards, and other teaching aids are available. E-classrooms are also there wherein LCD screens, Tablet PCs, IP cameras, etc. are installed to provide an interactive learning experience to the students. Moreover, for collaborative learning purposes, nearly 65 tutorial rooms are present.
At the Rungta University campus, around 4 auditoriums are located wherein more than 1000 students can be seated collectively. These venues are fully-fledged with the latest AV systems and are used for hosting various academic & cultural events. Apart from this, about 3 open-air stages are there having a combined seating capacity of 10,000+ students. Here, large-scale events are conducted.
An air-conditioned conference hall, well-equipped with projector, screen, etc. is available and is used for organising seminars and related academic activities. Besides this, moot court, seminar halls, a stationery store, and other dedicated academic spaces are also there at the campus.
The major infrastructural facilities for learning present at the University are described below:
- Library: The ‘Central Library’ of RISU Bhilai is present in a separate multi-storey building, is air-conditioned, and is spread across an area of approximately 25,000 square feet. It has a huge collection of learning materials including around 1,00,000 books, periodicals, industry reports, reference works, databases, research publications, etc.
Online learning resources and more than 500 online journals available at DELNET, INFLIBNET, Springer, and IEEE, to name a few, can be accessed by the students using the PCs available at the digital library.
Adequate reading spaces are available at the library so that students can hone their subject knowledge in a peaceful environment. The remaining amenities of the library are multimedia, Wi-Fi connection, reprographic services, departmental libraries, and the list goes on.
- Laboratories: There are numerous computer centres / laboratories inside the Rungta Bhilai campus. These venues are well-equipped with high-performance PCs connected to the Internet so that students can efficiently use the same to finish their academic tasks and for research purposes.
Other than this, ample labs are present for departments like Chemistry, Engineering, Pharmacy, etc. Some of the departmental laboratories include Chemistry lab, Electrical Machine lab, Forensic lab, Pharmaceutics lab, and Language lab.
Non-Academic Facilities
The University has ample recreational and supporting facilities to ensure that students can develop holistically and have an excellent campus experience. Some of the non-academic amenities offered to the students include a departmental store, common utility store, etc. Besides this, ramps, handrails, lifts, and other assistive facilities are available for the differently-abled students.
The other significant non-academic amenities that students are provided with are mentioned below:
- Sports: The University has a Sports Arena / Complex that has adequate facilities for various games. Students are encouraged to participate in different sports events with the aim to instill the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, etc. in them.
The outdoor sports infrastructure available at the Rungta University campus includes Grounds, Courts, and other spaces for Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis, and several others. Furthermore, amenities for indoor games like Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, and so on are provided to the students.
- Hostels: Separate on-campus accommodation facilities are provided to the outstation boys and girls enrolled at the University. Additionally, an off-campus hostel is also available for the male students. The fully-furnished AC & air-cooled rooms of the Rungta University Hostel with attached washrooms are offered to the residents on a 2,3, and 4-seater occupancy basis.
At the common mess with a dining hall, the hostellers are served with healthy vegetarian & non-vegetarian meal options. The remaining hostel amenities include common rooms, round the clock security, laundry & housekeeping, sports, gym, medical, and several others.
- Cafeteria: There are around 2 cafeterias including a food court named ‘Chai ka Adda’ at the campus of the University. Apart from this, a Nescafe corner, juice shop, chat corner, fast food corner, etc. are present. At these eateries, the students are served with hygienically prepared, wholesome snacks, dishes, and beverages.
- Transportation: Ample buses are owned by the University that cover the major routes of the city. Students can avail the transportation services for travelling daily to and from the Rungta University Bhilai campus.
- Healthcare Facilities: A ‘Medical Room’ is present at the Rungta University campus wherein Doctors, Nurses, and Paramedical Staff are available to provide basic first-aid, routine check-ups, and prompt medical services to the students.
Other than this, health check-up campus, awareness sessions, and vaccination programs are held regularly to ensure that students stay physically fit. The University has tie-ups with the nearby Hospitals so that students can get specialised treatments, advanced diagnostic facilities, and medical referrals. The Rungta Students’ Development Centres (RSDC) has been developed under which various clubs are functional.
