Maharaja Agrasen College Campus Tour, New Delhi

The infrastructure of the college is very good, the buildings are well built. The classroom is very big and, has smartboards built in every classroom. The chemistry and physics labs are built greatly and have every apparatus required. The library is very big and can contain more than 500 people in it at a time. The books available there are latest and are in very great condition too.

Campus Life in Maharaja Agrasen College is just like campus Life in every other college. The fests are held in the month of September and they are actually very great. Apart from this departmental fests are also organised. The college also organises field trips. The infrastructure of my college is the best despite being a Government College. There are 4 floors and all the departments are on these floors. There is no separate building for each department. There is a girls' hostel and a canteen is also situated at my college. A big conference room is also on the 2nd floor and there is a separate auditorium for extracurricular activities like social functions and other events like orientation. There is a big playground where you can play football, cricket, kabaddi, and other sports and a separate basketball court is also available. In the basement/parking area, there is a badminton court and gym where you can exercise. All in all, for infra, this is one of the best colleges across DU.

Overall campus life is very good. Annual fest at the college level and the departmental fest are celebrated each year. In the college fest, playback singers like Jass Manak come and entertain us. Many extracurricular activities are going on in the college regularly. I participated in a walk-e-thon in which I was a volunteer and distributed t-shirts and participated in the marathon. The infrastructure is one of the best in the new-campus category as the old elite colleges are a product of British Dominion. Hence, it stands out for being a proud Indian contribution. It has a pretty extensive admirable auditorium that is big enough to host a medium-sized audience for a college. The library is decent; covers academic books well but hosts poor stock for fiction and pleasure. The computer lab is below average. The canteen serving savory meals at super cheap prices is the best thing about the campus. If only its layout was of superior quality but I cannot stress enough on the mouth-watering, cheap, delicious meals!

The college and other cultural fests are organized well. They improved gradually; initially were a torture though. What the college lacks in its academics, makes up for in its other environmental and cultural projects and activities like SPIC MACAY etc. The trips are organized after deliberately requesting the administration and no investment is made to invite celebrity musicians to the college fest despite consistent requests. However, the crowd was not much active, scattered and lacked a sense of belongingness. Probably because it stays away from the realm of elections and has a quiet, sensible, small Students’ Council as its replacement and no other interaction with surrounding sister colleges.Read Full Review
