The WBJEE 2025 results have been postponed again. According to the reports of media outlets, the WBJEE results 2025 that were supposed to be released today i.e. 7th August, 2025 are deferred again. Moreover, the Principle Secretary of High Education, West Bengal has been summoned to appear at the court in order to clarify the state’s stand.
The reason for this delay is ongoing proceedings at Calcutta High Court against West Bengal Government, WBJEEB, and other parties about the revised list of Other Backward Classes (OBC) sub-castes. The court proceedings were started after a petition filled by the candidates. According to the new reports, Calcutta High Court Justice Kaushik Chanda initiated the ‘Suo Motu’ contempt after receiving a complaint via mail from merit-listed candidates in the JEMAS-PG (Medical postgraduate) exam and from the WBJEEB board itself.
Moreover, the court has questioned the Government’s decision about the OBC reservation list. As per the media reports, the State Government has violated the court’s order from last year about the same, especially when the Supreme Court has not put any stay on that order.
During the previous hearing, due to lack of proper justification, the court overruled the inclusion of 77 candidates. The board was asked to withhold the WBJEE results 2025 and further activities till the matter was resolved. Later, the Court’s interim order questioned West Bengal Government’s revised OBC reservation list.

WBJEE Results 2025 High Court Hearing Timeline
Below-given is the timeline of the Calcutta HC hearings regarding the ongoing OBC reservation matter that delayed the WBJEE results 2025:
7th August, 2025: During the ongoing hearing, WBJEE 2025 result release has been suspended by the High Court, stating that the exam board i.e. WBJEEB has defied the court’s jurisdiction. Now, the board and over 1 Lakh students are waiting for the final decision of the court’s Division Bench.
6th August 2025: The State HC initiated further court proceedings against the West Bengal Government and WBJEEB.
28th July, 2025: After a few days, the Supreme Court lifted the stay over the implication of OBC reservation list.
17th June, 2025: Following this, Calcutta High Court put an interim stay order over this list.
10th June, 2025: Government of West Bengal presented the updated list of OBC reservation with 140 sub-categories to the State Assembly.
May 2024: State High Court cancelled OBC reservation certificate provided to 77 communities since 2010. Post this decision, approximately 5 Lakh OBC reservation certificates were considered invalid.

Step 2: After this, select the Result Link.
Step 3: Following this, fill in the form number and date of birth. Then, Click on the Sign in option.
Step 4: After the completion of the sign in process, select the Get Result option. WBJEE 2025 results will be displayed over the screen. In the end, download the WBJEE scorecard PDF and keep the hard copy handy.
