WBJEE Result 2025: Steps to Check Score and Rank

The WBJEEB (exam conducting authority) will declare the WBJEE Result 2025 probably on 22^nd June 2025. Students who appeared for the entrance test can check their OMR recorded response on the official website. The Final Answer Key will be released after reviewing the objections submitted by the candidates.

Students will be able to check & download their result from the official website of the entrance test by using their login credentials. The rank card comprises the total & subject-wise marks obtained by the applicants in the WBJEE 2025.

The WBJEE exam result will be announced on ‘wbjeeb.nic.in’ / ‘wbjeeb.in’ by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). Through the State Level entrance exam the qualifying students will be eligible for admission in the UG Course in Engineering / Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture offered by the participating Institutes / Universities of West Bengal.

Moreover, candidates must be informed that the exam conducting body will not publish a rank list in order to maintain the confidentiality of the students.

The Rank Card comprises important details such as Total Marks, Component Scores in Paper I (Mathematics) and Paper II (Physics & Chemistry), and the rank obtained by the appeared candidates.

Students can follow the steps given below in order to check their WBJEE 2025 exam results and download the rank card:

• Visit ‘wbjeeb.nic.in’ / ‘wbjeeb.in’ and click on the ‘Rank Card for WBJEE 2025’ option.
• Now, sign in by entering the correct Application Number, Date of Birth, and Security Pin. Select ‘Sign In’ tab.
• The WBJEE 2025 result shall be available on the screen displayed. Students can download & take a printout of the rank card from the same page.

Note: In case candidates have lost the Rank Card and require a duplicate of the same, they may obtain the same from the competent Board before the last date of Counseling / 60 days after the announcement of WBJEE results. In order to obtain the Rank Card, the students have to apply to the Board along with a Processing Fee of Rs. 500/-for every document by the Bank Draft to the ‘West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board’ payable in Kolkata.

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will prepare 2 merit lists namely, General Merit Rank (GMR) & the Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR). The details about the ranking methodology of the WBJEE 2025 result are discussed below:

General Merit Rank (GMR)

Students under GMR may be considered for admission in all the Engineering & Pharmacy courses.

The method of preparing the General Merit Rank is as follows:

• It will be prepared on the basis of the total marks in Paper I & Paper II taken together of the students who have appeared for both the papers.
• Admission in the Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy programs offered at the Jadavpur Univeristy will be done on the basis of GMR.

Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR)

The criteria for preparing the Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR) are given below:

• The PMR & its sequence shall be prepared for the students who have appeared only for the Paper II i.e., Chemistry & Physics.
• Such students will be eligible for taking admission into the Pharmacy programs only (except for Jadavpur University).

Special Points to Consider

Some of the other criteria that the students must be aware of regarding the preparation of the General Merit Rank (GMR) & the Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR) are mentioned below:

• Students who have appeared only for Paper I will not be eligible for any rank.
• The order of sequencing for Counseling / Admission / Seat Allotment will be done only on the basis of GMR & PMR and not the Category marks.
• The ranking for GMR & PMR will comprise classification of the candidates in descending order of the total marks obtained in all the respective subjects, as applicable. If tie occurs, the respective tie-breaking rules for the General and Pharmacy Merit Rank will be applied.
• A separate ‘Reserved Category Merit Positions’ will be designated for the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC-A / OBC-B / EWS / PwD / TFW / other categories as applicable.
• The ranks of the reserved category candidates will be cancelled if their Category claim is found to be invalid. Additionally, they will be considered under the General Category & others’ reserved ranks will remain the same.

If 2 or more candidates have obtained the same WBJEE 2025 ranks, then the following rules shall be applied in the order of priority to determine the merit ranks of the students:

Tie-Breaking Rules for the General Merit Rank (GMR)

The rules to be followed to break the tie in the General Merit Rank (GMR) are as follows:

• Students with lesser negative marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics taken together shall be allotted a higher rank.
• Then, the ones with more positive scores in Mathematics & Physics taken together will be considered.
• Afterwards, those who have secured more positive marks in Mathematics & Chemistry (taken together) will be selected.
• Now, candidates with lesser negative marks in Mathematics & Physics will be shortlisted.
• If the tie doesn’t break then, students having less negative marks in Mathematics & Chemistry will be given priority.
• Thereafter, positive marks in Mathematics for only 2 mark questions will be taken into consideration.
• After this, the more positive marks in Physics for only the two mark questions will be contemplated.
• If the tie still persists then, the students will be judged upon their positive marks in Chemistry in the 2 mark questions.
• Now, applicants who have obtained less negative marks in Mathematics (in the 2 mark questions) will be prioritised.
• This will be followed by considering the less negative marks in Physics for the 2 mark questions only.
• At the end, the tie will be broken on the basis of the less negative marks in Chemistry (for 2 mark questions).

Tie-breaking Rules for Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR)

The competent authority will adhere by the following norms to break the tie in PMR:

• At first, the less negative marks of the students having a tie will be calculated in Physics & Chemistry taken together.
• After this, the students with more positive marks in Chemistry will be given priority.
• Then, in order to break the tie the students with more positive marks will be considered.
• If the tie continues, students having less negative marks in Chemistry will be shortlisted.
• Thereafter, candidates with more positive marks in Chemistry (for the 2 mark questions only) will be ranked higher.
• Now, the tie will be resolved based on the less negative marks in Chemistry (for 2 mark questions only).
• In case the tie still doesn’t break then, the ones with more positive marks in Physics for only the 2 mark questions will be listed higher.
• At last, those who have less negative marks in Physics (for the 2 marks questions only) will be allotted the rank.

The above-mentioned were the norms that the competent authority will follow to break the tie between the candidates having the same merit rank in the GMR & PMR, as applicable. If the tie will still continue to exist then, it will be broken on the basis of the Date of Birth of the students. Under this rule, the older student will be given preference over the younger one.

In case, the tie will still continue then finally, the Application Number of the candidates in ascending order will be taken into consideration. In this, the one who had applied earlier will be given the rank.

Important Points to Consider

Some points to be considered about raising queries / grievances about the WBJEE 2025 results are mentioned below:

• In case students have any concern regarding their WBJEE scores 2025 then, they can raise a query by sending an email to the concerned authorities within 24 hours of announcement of the result. Additionally, they have to attach the copies of their OMR, question booklet number & its series code, rank card, and question-wise calculation of their score obtained.
• If candidates desire to make a physical representation, they are allowed to do so until the afternoon of the next working day of the result declaration. Post that, no queries / grievances shall be taken into account.
• In order to obtain the calculation sheet of the WBJEE 2025, students are required to apply to the Board along with a Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- in favour of ‘West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board’, payable at Kolkata. This facility can be availed only within 60 days from the date of result announcement / till the counseling is over, whichever is later.

The WBJEE 2025 result is scheduled to be declared probably on 22^nd June 2025 on the official website. Students will be able to view their results and download the rank cards made available on ‘wbjeeb.nic.in’ / ‘wbjeeb.in’.
