The BITS HD Eligibility Criteria 2026 will help students know about the academic qualifications, age limit, and Nationality which are required to appear in the test.
In addition, students seeking admission in M.E / M.Pharm course through BITS HD 2026 exam must have completed Integrated First Degree with at least 60% marks. Moreover, there is no lower and upper age limit and only Indian citizens are eligible to appear for this test.
*Students with a GATE & GPAT can also apply for admission in M.E and M.Pharm program of BITS, respectively (except M.E in Software System).
BITS HD Registration 2026 will start on ‘bitsadmission.com/hd’ (official website) tentatively from 26th February 2026 and will continue till 19th April 2026. While filling the application form, students need to opt for any one option on which their admission needs to be considered (GATE or GPAT / BITS HD / both).
Moreover, the conducting body charges an application fee for BITS HD exam 2026 which is non-refundable and it is Rs. 1000 for GATE / GPAT & Rs. 3500/- for other candidates.

The exam has 2 Tests and the syllabus for Test 1 are as follows:
The test 2 syllabus is different on the basis of courses & specialisations opted by the students such as Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Pharmacy, and others.
* It is to be noted that a special test is conducted in the place of Paper 2 for students applying for M.E in Software Systems / Environmental Engineering and the syllabus for that differs.
As per the BITS HD Exam Pattern 2026, the entrance test will be held Online - CBT mode in English medium. The paper will contain around 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) which are divided into 2 Tests. 30 questions will be asked in Test 1 and remaining 70 questions in Test 2. If any student is appearing for a Special Test (replacement of Test 2), then that section will include only 50 questions.
For every correct answer in the BITS HD 2026 test, students will get 3 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. In addition, no marks will be given or deducted for unanswered questions. Moreover, candidates need to complete Test 1 in 45 minutes and the duration of Test 2 is 105 minutes. Whereas, students appearing for the special test have only 60 minutes (1 hour) to complete the paper.
The conducting body will issue the BITS HD Admit Card 2026 a few days prior to the exam date that means in the month of May 2026 (expected). Students can download the hall ticket via the official website i.e., ‘bitsadmission.com/hd’ by login with the required credentials.
Moreover, students need to carry the hall ticket at the test centre on the BITS HD exam 2026. Candidates without a hall ticket will not be allowed to sit for the test.

The Institution does not conduct Birla Institute of Technology & Science – Higher Degree (BITS HD 2026) test in following cities:
Note: Students should know that BITS Pilani has the right to exclude any of the test centres mentioned in the table in case any unforeseen circumstances occur. Under such a case, students allotted a centre in such cities will be shifted to alternate centers which are Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. Information regarding the same will be shared with the students prior to the BITS HD 2026 exam date.
