Students can register themselves and book the available slot as per preference in order to appear for the CGCUET 2026. The registration for the Phase I of the CGCUET entrance exam will open probably on 1^st December 2025 & will continue till 31^st May 2026. The Chandigarh Group of Colleges University Entrance Test, also known as CGCUET, is held by CGC University, Mohali. The purpose of the entrance exam is to grant admission to the students in various UG Engineering programs & offer merit-based scholarships to the candidates enrolled in programs offered at the UG, PG, and Lateral Entry levels.

The exam conducting authority i.e., CGC Mohali grants admission to the students in B.Tech CSE / AI & ML / AI & DS / Robotics & AI / Blockchain programs only on the basis of merit marks in the CGCUET 2026. However, the University level entrance test is also conducted for awarding merit-based scholarships to aspirants who wish to get admission in the other Engineering & Non-Engineering courses, including the lateral entry programs.

Aspiring students can complete the CGCUET Registration 2026 via online or offline mode. The registration for Phase I can be done between December 2025 & May 2026, and between June 2026 & August 2026 for the Phase II. The exam fee is Rs. 1000/-.

The applicants are required to book a slot in order to appear for the CGCUET 2026. While booking the slot in the registration form, students have the provision to choose the available date & time of the examination as per their convenience.

Note: It is to be noted that the conducting body will not release the admit card to appear for the entrance test. The aspirants are supposed to take the exam as per the booked date & time.

The syllabus for the CGCUET 2026 is divided into 2 sections which are further divided into various subjects & its respective topics. The curriculum for each of the programs is different; however, Section A is the same for all.

Section A:

Section B:

For section B, the CGCUET exam 2026 syllabus contains the domain specific subjects that are to be covered by the candidates comprehensively.

The CGCUET Exam Pattern 2026 is designed by the exam conducting authority i.e., CGC University, Mohali. Applicants should be well-acquainted with the paper pattern of their desired program so that they can secure excellent marks in the entrance exam. The CGCUET 2026 exam will be held for a duration of 50 minutes through remote proctored online test mode.

The question paper of the University level entrance exam will comprise 2 sections (1 section for PG & lateral entry courses). There will be a total of 50 MCQs asked wherein each of the questions will carry 2 marks. However, no marks shall be deducted for incorrect answers. Furthermore, the medium of instruction will be in the English language only.

Cut-off marks are the minimum qualifying marks that are required to be obtained by the applicants in order to get admission in the desired program. Based on the guidelines specified by the conducting authority, candidates obtaining 30 points & above in the entrance test will be eligible for admission.

* Students who secure 30-39.99 will only be granted admission, and those who obtain 40 points & above will be eligible for both admission & scholarship.

Through the scores secured in the CGCUET 2026, candidates will be eligible for getting admission in the B.Tech CSE / AI & ML / AI & DS / Robotics & AI / Blockchain courses, and obtain scholarship benefits in the Engineering & non-Engineering programs as per merit in the participating Institution.
