The exam pattern of the IIHM eCHAT is designed & prescribed by its conducting body i.e., International Institute of Hotel Management. As per the IIHM eCHAT 2026 Exam Pattern, the admission test will be conducted for a period of 60 minutes through online (remote proctored / centre based) mode.

The admit slip / admit card contains the date & time of the entrance test. The appearing candidates are supposed to follow certain guidelines on the exam day of the IIHM eCHAT so that they do not face any trouble. Some of such instructions are mentioned below separately for both Remote Proctored Online Test and Centre-Based Online Test:

For Remote Proctored Online Test

• Students must make sure that the system they are using to take the IIHM e-Common Hotel & Hospitality Admission Test is connected to a stable internet so that there are no interruptions while taking the IIHM eCHAT.
• Avoid keeping any electronic & bluetooth devices nearby while appearing for the admission test.
• Mobile phones can be used only to receive and enter the OTP for login purposes and that too before the commencement of the IIHM eCHA.
• Enter the OTP correctly; without entering the valid OTP, the exam will not start. In case there is any technical error, change the mobile number & try again.
•  The IIHM eCHAT test will begin soon after login & the answer sheet window will automatically close after 60 minutes.
• Candidates are instructed to not resize / close the exam window. In such cases, the students will have to login again.
•  If there is any server error while taking the exam, the server clock will automatically pause & applicants will be able to attempt the questions from where they left.

For Centre-Based Online Test

• Arrive at the exam centre at least 60 minutes before the commencement of the test.
• Do not carry any digital & electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, smart watch, calculator, and other Bluetooth devices as these are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.
• Listen carefully & follow the instructions given by the invigilators.
• Avoid speaking with the fellow candidates & do not share any articles with them during the exam duration as it might be considered as cheating.
