The Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET) is conducted annually by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) for offering admission to the students in various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Ph.D programs offered by the University, its constituent units & affiliated Colleges / Institutes, respectively.

The IPU CET 2026 is held via online Computer Based Test (CBT) mode wherein students have to answer 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) within a period of 150 minutes. Candidates are required to note that the merit of the entrance test will be only valid for 1 year.

The IPU CET Eligibility Criteria 2026 is decided & prescribed by the exam conducting authority i.e., Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. It is mandatory for the students to satisfy the specific eligibility conditions for their desired program in order to register & appear for the IPU CET 2026.

Students must fulfil the eligibility criteria to move further for completing the registration process. The IPU CET Registration 2026 can be done via online mode tentatively from 1st February 2026. The registration window will close probably on 31st March 2026.

To register, candidates are required to navigate “ipu.ac.in” & go to the “Candidate Activity Board”. After registration, students have to fill in the IPU CET 2026 application form by logging in using their ID & password & then upload the requisite documents as per the prescribed format. After completion, examination fee of Rs. 1500/- has to be paid by the students via any of the accepted online modes of payment.

The IPU CET 2026 is held for admissions in UG, PG & Ph.D programs in various disciplines and therefore, the syllabus for each program is different. The IPU CET 2026 exam is conducted once a year. The IPU CET Exam Pattern 2026 states that the entrance exam will be held for a duration of 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes) via online Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for a maximum of 400 marks. It is to be noted that the differently abled students will get an extra time of 50 minutes.

There will be a total of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) asked in the question paper in English language only, wherein each question will have 4 responses. Every question carries 4 marks. There will be -1 negative marking for wrong answers & no deduction in marks will be applicable for un-attempted questions.

* The questions for the B.Ed Program will be asked in both English & Hindi languages.

The IPU CET 2026 exam’s conducting body will conduct the entrance test in approximately 13 cities of India. Students have to select the preferred city test centres in which they wish to appear for the exam while filling in the application form.

The IPU CET Exam Centres 2026 are given in the table below:

* Once the exam centre has been allotted to the candidates, it cannot be changed under any circumstances.

* If the 1^st & 2^nd option for the test centre are not invoked or due to any reason then, he / she will be allotted the Delhi centre.

The conducting body has regulated certain instructions that the appearing candidates have to strictly follow on the actual exam date of the IPU CET 2026. Some of those guidelines are given below in detail:

• Students have to report to the designated test centre at least 30 minutes before the reporting time & complete the entry formalities like Biometric Attendance Registration including capturing of photographs, and frisking before the allotment of seats. The entry gates of the exam centre will close half an hour before the starting time of the IPU CET exam.
• Aspirants must bring with them 2 copies of their Admit Card, passport size photograph, 1 valid original photo identification card (Driving License / Passport / Voter Identity Card / Aadhaar Card / PAN Card / Government Employee ID), and at least 2 pens for rough work.
• Applicants have to remain seated at their designated seats till the exam time is over. After the CBT exam is over, candidates have to again appear for the biometric verification before leaving the exam hall.
• Students should not carry electronic gadgets & other appliances such as mobile phones, earphones, watches, communication devices, purses, log tables, calculators, metallic items, etc. in the exam centre. If candidates are found to be having possession of any such items then, they will be disqualified.
• Students will be given their User ID & Password for appearing in the IPU CET 10 minutes before the commencement of the exam at their respective seats. Appearing candidates are advised to check that their name & photograph are displayed on the screen after logging in.
• If students are suspected for any mischievous behavior / being indulged in practicing unfair means then, such candidates’ candidature will be cancelled & they will be blacklisted from appearing in the future exams of the conducting body. Additionally, such students might also face legal proceedings against them.

* Photocopy / softcopy / scanned copy of the identity card will not be acceptable.

* If a candidate's name has changed after marriage then, she is required to produce her Original Matriculation Certificate & Marriage Registration Certificate / other documentary proof for identification on the exam day.
