Academic Qualification
To apply for the entrance exam,the candidates should have completed a 3 years recognised Undergraduate degree or equivalent with the specified subjects in accordance with the KEA PGCET eligibility criteria 2027.
Qualifying Marks
Students need to obtain a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC / ST / Category-I of Karnataka candidates) in all the subjects taken together including languages (for MBA) of all years / semesters of the qualifying degree as per the Karnataka PGCET eligibility criteria 2027.
Age Limit
The Karnataka Examination Authority hasn’t described an upper or lower age limit to apply for the Karnataka PGCET Exam.

Note: For admission in Part-time MBA / M.E / M.Tech / M.Arch, students should have at least 3-years of work experience after obtaining UG Degree in an organisation located within 40 km radial distance from the Institution they wish to get admission in.

- Proof of domicile has to be attained and produced from the ‘Deputy Director, Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement’.
- The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination from any University / Board / Institution across India.

Note: As per the Karnataka PGCET eligibility criteria 2027, codes ‘c’ & ‘d’ are relevant only for the M.E / M.Tech courses whereas code ‘h’ is only applicable for MBA and MCA programs. Additionally, the students must submit documents like 10th & 12th Standard Marks Card, Degree Certificate, Study Certificate etc. to be eligible to apply for Government quota seats.
In accordance with the KEA PGCET eligibility criteria 2027, the conducting body has specified reservation of seats for certain reserved categories including:
- Ex-Defence Servicemen (applicable only for MBA & MCA courses)
- Differently Abled Candidates
- SC / ST / OBC (Category 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B) only of Karnataka origin
- Applicants of Hyderabad-Karnataka region as per Article 371 (J)

Students are recommended to consider the subsequent points regarding the Karnataka PGCET eligibility criteria 2027:
- Candidates with a valid GATE score do not need to appear for the PGCET exam. However, they are required to complete the registration and pay the fees through the online admission portal.
- Furthermore, such students will be given first preference for admissions into the M.Tech / M.E / M.Arch programs.
- The same rules also apply to the reserved category (SC / ST / GM / OBC / PD) applicants of Karnataka origin only with a valid GATE score. Nevertheless, if they do not have the requisite score, they are required to appear for the PGCET exam.
- Candidates applying for M.Arch courses are also supposed to qualify for the PGETA examination conducted by the Council of Architecture.
- Applicants with Foreign Degrees are mandated to obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, as per the KEA PGCET exam eligibility criteria 2027.
- Applicants with distance education degrees will be considered ineligible for admission in the M.Tech courses through any quota in accordance with the KEA PGCET eligibility criteria 2027.
