The MET 2026 exam date will probably be 18th & 19th April 2026 for the 1st phase and the 2nd phase will be conducted on 12th May 2026. Moreover, the MET registrations 2026 are likely to begin in October 2025 for the students.

MET is popularly known as Manipal Entrance Test (formerly known as MU OET). MAHE - Manipal Academy of Higher Education conducts the Entrance Exam at the University Level for offering admission in various UG, PG, Diploma, PGDM programs and others. The MET 2026 exam is conducted once every year in around 25 states of India and in Dubai. It is a 2 hour exam that is held via online CBT (Computer Based Test) mode in English medium.

Manipal Entrance Exam (MET) is held by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). The exam is held for offering admission in the Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Integrated Programs (IP), PG Certificate, Diploma, PGDM, Advanced PG Diploma, Ph.D Programs, Lateral Entry, etc. like B.Tech, BBA,  M.Sc (Clinical Psychology), M.Pharm, B.Sc Nursing, etc. in the constituent units of MAHE.

For appearing in the MET 2026 test, students must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria set by the conducting body of the examination, i.e., Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE).

Registration for the MET 2026 entrance exam will expectedly start from October 2025. Aspirants who satisfy the eligibility criteria are advised to fill the MET 2026 Registration form via online mode the last date, i.e., 28th March 2026 (tentative).

MET 2026 will be conducted in 3 phases. MET exam date 2026 for the 1st phase is expected to be 18th April 2026 & 19th April 2026 and the 2nd phase will be conducted probably on 12th May 2026. The tentative date for the 3rd phase is yet to be announced. Phase 1 will be conducted in 2 time slots.

The syllabus of MET 2026 is designed by its conducting body i.e., Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). It is crucial for the students to be well versed with the MET 2026 Syllabus since the exam paper is set on the basis of the topics & sub-topics given in the official syllabus.

For B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology)

It consists of the following subjects:

* The MET Syllabus 2026 for every course is different; students are required to check the subjects included in the specific program’s syllabus for which they have opted.

It must be noted that the exam pattern of MET 2026 is different for various programs for which the test is conducted. Students should be familiar with the MET 2026 Exam Pattern of their chosen course in order to avoid any confusion on the actual exam day.

As per the exam pattern of MET 2026, in every course, each question carries 4 marks. The duration of the courses is as follows:

• The exam will be held for 120 minutes for all the Programs.
• For M.Sc (Clinical Psychology / Data Science), the exam will be conducted for a period of 60 minutes.

For B.Tech

As per the exam pattern, there will be 2 types of questions asked namely, MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) & NAT (Numerical Answer Type) which will be for a total of 240 marks. There will be a total of 60 questions overall including the subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English. For MCQs, -1 mark for every wrong answer will be subtracted. There will be no negative marking for unanswered questions.

For BBA

The test will be of 400 total marks wherein, students will be required to answer 100 MCQs overall in the subjects such as Numeracy, Conceptual, English, General Awareness, and Reading Comprehension. There will be -1 negative marking for each incorrect answer and no negative marking for unattempted questions.

After submitting the Registration Form, students are required to book their preferred slots for the 1^st / 2^nd attempt. MAHE will open the window for MET 2026 Slot Booking wherein applicants will be required to book their preferred Date & Batch they wish to take the MET 2026 Entrance Test on. Students can follow the below-given steps to book their slots:

• Navigate the official website i.e., “manipal.edu” and open the OTBS (Online Test Booking System) portal. Login using the “MAHE Application Number” & “OTBS Password”.
• Verify the Test City (previously selected) and click on the “Online Slot Booking” button. Select the preferred Examination Date & Slot displayed on a real-time basis based on availability of slots.

* Here, “Payment for 2^nd attempt” will be displayed on the screen for candidates who are booking the slot for 2^nd attempt. Here, the students will have to make the necessary payment & later book the slot.

• Click on the “Submit” button. Again confirmation will be asked; click on “Ok” for confirming the slot or else click on “Cancel” to review.

Students who wish to book the slot for 2^nd attempt must be aware of the following conditions:

• Those who have applied before the last date of registration are eligible to apply for 2^nd attempt for Phase 2 by paying an additional fee of Rs. 1400/- and they need not apply for the exam again.
• The Exam Centre for both the attempts will be the same.

* The slots will be allotted to the students on a first come first serve basis subject to the number of seats available.

* Without booking the slot beforehand, students will not be eligible to appear for the entrance test. Moreover, Students are not allowed to change the slots once booked.

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education will conduct the MET 2026 entrance test in approximately 82 test centres across the 25 Indian States and in 1 International Centre. Students are required to select 3 tentative test centres in the order of preference while filling the online application form. The list of test centres is given below:

There are certain guidelines that are supposed to be compulsorily followed by the appearing candidates on the MET 2026 exam date. Students can go through the guidelines discussed below to avoid any problems on the exam day:

• Applicants must report to the allotted test centre at least 1 hour before the exam’s scheduled time to complete all the formalities.
• A photograph & thumb impression of the appearing candidate will be captured by the present authorities as a part of the registration process at the test centre; students will need to co-operate for the same.
• Candidates need to carry 1 hard copy of the e-hall ticket, and 1 valid photo identification document like Aadhaar Card / Driving License / Passport / ECI Voter ID Card / PAN Card / School or College photo bearing ID Card.
• Students are strictly prohibited to carry electronic items like mobile phones, smart watches, other Bluetooth devices, etc. in the examination hall.
• If any appearing candidate is observed to be involved in any suspicious activity, then MAHE has the right to conduct investigation against the candidate including CCTV & rough sheets’ verification, inspection of candidate’s pattern of attempting the questions, etc.
