The Panjab University Lateral Engineering Entrance Test, popularly known as the PULEET, is conducted once a year in a single session for offering admission to the students in the Lateral Entry Undergraduate Engineering programs. The exam is held through offline OMR based mode for a duration of 1 hour & 40 minutes in English medium only.

Note: Candidates who have passed the last qualifying exam or are going to appear in the same will be eligible to apply for the test.
The conducting body will permit only those students to take the PULEET 2026 who have successfully completed the registration & submitted the application form at the ‘puleet.puchd.ac.in’ and paid the exam fee. The fee for the PULEET Registration 2026 is Rs. 2850/- (Rs. 1425/- for SC / ST / PwD category). However, candidates who have not finished the application form but have paid the exam fee can complete it by paying a late fee of Rs. 500/-.
The curriculum for the PULEET 2026 is designed by the conducting body every year. Candidates should know that the syllabus for the exam consists of multiple sections which are further segregated into varied sub-sections and its respective topics. Following the curriculum extensively during preparation can significantly aid the applicants in enhancing their overall performance in the test.
The PULEET Syllabus 2026 is as follows:
Applicants have to appear for the PULEET 2026 through offline OMR based mode. The question paper will comprise 10 sections namely, Basic Electrical Engineering, Basic Electronics, Programming Fundamentals, Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering, Fundamentals of Civil Engineering, Fundamentals of Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and General Aptitude & Communication Skills.
As per the PULEET Exam Pattern 2026, there will be 100 MCQs in total in the question paper that are to be attempted by the students within 1 hour & 40 minutes. The medium of instruction will be in the English language. Every question will have a weightage of 1 mark and -0.25 negative marking will be done for incorrect answers.
* It is to be noted that the PwD / visually handicapped candidates will be granted a compensatory time of 35 minutes to take the test.
The PULEET Admit Card 2026 will be available around 7 days before the exam date for download at the official website i.e., ‘puleet.puchd.ac.in’. Students who have successfully submitted the form and paid the test fee will be able to access their hall ticket using their login ID and password.
However, candidates who complete their registration with a late fee will have their admit cards issued manually by the CET-Cell. Moreover, applicants should know that it is mandatory for them to carry the admit card to the exam centre to be allowed to appear for the PULEET 2026.
The PULEET 2026 will be conducted by the PU Chandigarh only through offline mode only. Students can select the desired test centre while they fill the application form.

Candidates should consider solving the old question papers during their preparation phase to ensure that they have completed all the topics given in the syllabus and revise the same comprehensively. The PU Chandigarh (conducting body) will release the provisional answer key for the PULEET exam 2026 around 4 days after the exam. Students who appeared for the exam can visit the official website and match their marked answers to assess their performance in the same. If there is any discrepancy in the key then candidates can raise objections against the same by sending an email at ‘[email protected]’ before the stipulated last date.
Moreover, after this, the response to the answer challenges, the PULEET Answer Key 2026 will be released and cross-objections will be invited. If any mismatch is further observed then applicants can raise objections through email before the deadline.
The PULEET Result 2026 will be declared online 15-16 days post exam is held. To view and download the result, students have to visit ‘puleet.puchd.ac.in’, enter their roll number and captcha at the designated fields, and then choose the ‘Show Result’ button. The Office of the conducting authority will not issue a separate result card to the applicants.
In addition to this, PU Chandigarh will create a common Merit cum Rank list based on the marks in PULEET 2026. Students should note that the result declared by the conducting body will be final. No requests for re-evaluation / re-checking / re-assessment of answer sheets and viewing of question booklet / answer sheet will be entertained under any circumstances.
In case students desire to get their result verified then they can request a photocopy of the answer sheet by paying the requisite amount within 10 days of result announcement. If a mismatch is found in the result then the same will be revised accordingly and the fee paid for verification will be refunded. Furthermore, there will be no separate PULEET 2026 cut-off marks announced for different categories.
In accordance with the guidelines of the conducting body, students who secure the same marks in the PULEET 2026 will be bracketed together while preparing the final merit list. In such a case, the participating Institution will break the tie between the concerned candidates on the basis of inter-se-merit for granting admission.
The tie-resolving regulations are as follows:
Students who are ranked in the final merit list of PULEET 2026 have to further compulsorily appear for the counselling process in person in order to get admission in the desired branch of 2nd year of B.E course. The PULEET Counselling Process 2026 will be held in 2 rounds based on the ranks and category of the applicants.
Candidates have to fill an Application cum Scrutiny Form and submit the same along with DD of the counselling fee on the specified date and time. Those who have already paid the counselling fee during the 1st round need not pay again if they are appearing for the 2nd round.
Additionally, in case students report late for the counselling process then they will not be considered for claiming the already filled seats. The concerned applicants may be given an option to choose from the available unfilled seats. Post this, the PULEET Seat Allotment 2026 shall be done which will be solely based on the merit of students in the entrance test.
During this process, the students will finally be allotted the branch & Institution subject to availability of admission seats and fulfillment of eligibility requirements. To confirm the candidature for admission in the allocated branch & Institution, students have to pay the requisite seat acceptance fee before the deadline.
* Applicants with a compartment in their last qualifying exam or awaited results should clear the supplementary exam and have their results declared before registering for counselling. Otherwise, such candidates will be considered ineligible for taking part in the counselling process.
Students securing a rank in the PULEET 2026 entrance test will be further eligible to obtain admission in the 2nd year (3rd Semester) of the B.E program available in varied branches.
