WB JECA Exam Pattern 2026: Marking Scheme
The WB JECA marking scheme is set by the WBJEEB (conducting body) and through it is analysed how many marks students have secured in the exam.
As per the WB JECA exam 2026 pattern, the category-wise marking scheme are stated below in details:
Category 1
Check the following pointers to know about the marking criteria of the Category 1 of the WB JECA paper:
- For every right response, students will get 1 mark.
- -0.25 marks will be deducted if the student has marked the wrong answer. Moreover, choosing 2 options (even if one of them is right), the negative marking will be applicable.
Category 2
For marking scheme of Category 2, check the below listed points:
- One or more answers will be correct under this category.
- 2 marks will be given to the students if they have opted for all correct answers.
- If the student has marked one or more incorrect responses then the answer will be considered wrong but the negative marking will not be applicable.
- In case, all the right & wrongs options are not opted, students will get 2 x (number of correct options marked / total number of actually correct options).
Note: For both categories, no negative marking will be applicable if the question is unanswered.
WB JECA Exam Pattern 2026: Facilities for PwD Candidates
On the basis of the WB JECA exam pattern 2026, PwD category candidates who have satisfied the disability criteria will be given extra time of 20 minutes per hour on a pro-rata basis. Along with this, students with benchmark disability can avail scribe / reader facility on their own.
However, to avail any of the afore-given facility, students have to apply formally in writing and need to submit the application at least 30 days before the actual examination.
Note: PwD category students will get special arrangement in the office of the Board of Kolkata as it is not available in any other test centres.
