WBUT PGET Eligibility Criteria 2026: Check Nationality, Age Limit, Aggregate Score & Qualifications

The Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), Kolkata prescribes the eligibility requirements for the WBUT PGET exam every year. In accordance with the WBUT PGET eligibility criteria 2026, students should have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in a specified discipline from a recognised Institute / University. Moreover, only Indian students can apply for the entrance exam.

Academic Qualifications

Candidates should be enrolled or have passed an Undergraduate degree such as B.Tech / B.E / B.Pharm / B.Arch / MCA / M.Sc as prescribed for the respective course from a recognised Institute / University. Additionally, the course offered by the Institution should be approved by AICTE / PCI / COA.

Qualifying Marks

The conducting authority has not specified the minimum qualifying marks except for the M.Tech (Biotechnology) program. To enroll in that particular course, students should have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in their last qualifying examination.

Age Limit

On the basis of the WBUT PGET eligibility criteria 2026, there is no lower or upper age limit prescribed by the conducting body i.e., MAKAUT Kolkata.

Nationality

Only Indian students are eligible to appear for the WBUT PGET 2026 exam.

• Students should have passed their Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields from a recognised Institution, which need to be approved by the AICTE. Here, equivalent means that students should be an Associate Member of a Professional of Engineers that is recognised by the Government of India for the purpose of admission to higher studies in Engineering.
• Any degree secured from Distance Education Program mode will not be considered. However, a degree acquired by IGNOU or any Open University within State jurisdiction will be accepted.
