National College is one of the oldest and reputed colleges in Bandra. The location of the college makes it viable for students staying at different locations as the college is near to the Bandra local station. Also, the bus stop that is connected to all the suburbs is just next to the college. The college is strict in terms of studies and therefore when I asked my parents to please allow me to study in this college, they readily agreed. The classed for the junior college commences in noon while for senior college in the morning. It was tough to adjust initially but couldn’t even realize how quickly those 5 years actually passed by. Loved the vibes at the college and will always be grateful for the way R. D. National College helped me realizing my potential.

I joined this college from the junior college itself and loved every bit of it. The college was very strict during the junior college. The best part is that if you study junior college from National College, you don’t have to wait for the merit list to get the admissions. The senior college is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and the syllabus was therefore the same that you will find in all colleges of Mumbai. What makes National College different is its priority and teaching ways. Academics are the most important section and the college has many extra-curricular activities but the students who are good at studies are given the first choice. You can’t ignore studies, if you want to study at the decorated National College.

The faculty protected the bright students but also never ignored the students who are weak. Though there were many professors but all were aware of the grades that we were getting as nothing can escape our professors. They were intense and so was their teaching method as well. Accomplishment was what we expected out of us and on doing that we also used to get a pat on our backs from them. Faculty members were helpful and were always up for students.

I hope it’s not a joke. I have seen many people saying that our college has placements for B. Com students but in reality I don’t think there’s any at least the ones that are affiliated to Mumbai University. The college always told us to be proactive and nothing below post-graduation can earn you a respectable job.

Well, the college should have its own hostel. The MMK College which is next to National College too doesn't have any hostel. Both the college can at least think of having a common hostel as many outsiders come and study in both the colleges. Unfortunately though, there’s no hostel and students are left with one choice of searching rooms for themselves at flat & flat mates. For finding flats in Mumbai, if you are a student is not that tough. There are various PGs and flats that are designed to accommodate students coming from other states and cities.

The college is bigger than various other colleges of Mumbai. The college is known for its greenery and the college garden has various exotic flowers as well. The main building is some 7 decades old and the look of it will explain the further story. The college has done many changes over the years keeping students demand intact. The college has its own playground and a running track. The college also has an indoor sports center that has a small gym and some indoor sports facilities as well. The college also has a huge auditorium which is fully air-conditioned. The National college library is huge and the membership cost is also very reasonable. The college canteen is also reserved for college students as no outsider is served food or even allowed to enter. The college location too is one of the best as it is very near the Bandra Railway station and plus the bus stand is just next to the college gate.

R. D. National College has been attended by prominent personalities have been an alumni of this college. Go Green is the mantra in this college and you will notice this as soon as you enter the college campus. National college famous dictum is Play The Sport and thus the college encouraged us to play sports at will. In addition to this the college has every now and then has encouraged social awareness campaigns. Many students from the college were asked to campaign for go-green, anti-smoking, and save water campaigns and I was one of them. All this really helped me to do some social work as well. A special mention to the dosas and frankies that were served in the canteens. ‘BlowFest’ which is also the annual fest of the college has been witnessed by many prominent personalities and is considered one of the biggest fest among colleges in Mumbai.
