As a third-year arts student with economics and history as my major subjects, my journey at NMKRV Degree College for Women in Bangalore has been exceptionally amazing. I am proud to have graduated from this renowned institution. This place has not only helped me achieve in my academics with foundation but also offered me many opportunities for my personal growth and development through a wide range of extracurricular activities.

NMKRV Degree College for Women stands in one of the top colleges in Bangalore for its academic excellence. This college has a fantastic and hardworking team of dedicated faculty members. The teachers are highly qualified members and are experts in their respective fields. Most importantly, they are committed to the success of their students. The teaching methods are engaging, and the curriculum is designed as per the guidelines of national education policy. I am very proud to be in the first batch of NEP which is a skill developmental course for graduates. It not only focuses on the percentile and marks but also extends its view to a broader path covering skills and expertise.

My personal experience with the Department of History has been really good. We have two lecturers for the history subject, and both are very friendly. We can approach them if any doubt without any sort of hesitation. They explain the concept without making us feel dumb and discuss even minute doubts for better knowledge and grip on the subject. The HOD of the history department is very experienced and has received many awards for her projects and thesis. She makes sure that everyone in the class understands the concept and refers to various books. There is no sort of language barrier in her class because she translates and explains in both English as well as Kannada. The Department of Economics is considered to be the most determined one among all. The HOD of the Economics Department is highly talented and very hardworking person. Even with more than 25 years of teaching experience he still prepares before entering the class to make sure that the time is well utilized. As an economics professor, he is very concerned about the proper utilization of resources and guides us on the same path. He believes that there is change from generation to generation and hence the method of teaching and examples used should also be updated accordingly. With his guidance, I have written many papers and attended a few project presentations at other colleges. That was a really valuable experience where I learned how to face my stage fear and build confidence.

Yes, we have a Placement Cell named Disha Placement Cell. It helps in the all-round development of the students and makes them prepared for the job opportunities. It plays a most important role in providing placement opportunities by collaborating with leading companies and organizations. Disha placements cell encourages Students to gain experience as an intern by making internship a compulsory course for everyone for thirty days. It even offered us a course on employability skills which was 45 hours. This course included general orientation on all competitive exams, Quantitative aptitude, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English language and comprehension solving, and most importantly, it included skill development activities like problem-solving exercises, Case studies, role-playing, debates, group discussions, mock tests, and mock interviews.

Yes, we do have residential facilities in our Institute. The hostel belongs to RSST trust and is at a distance of 500 m from the college. The hostel is completely women's and has easy access to the nearest metro station and Hospital facilities. I stayed in this hostel for nearly three years. We have two sharing and three sharing rooms with a common bathroom facility. The infrastructure is very good and well-maintained. the staff who work here a very friendly and are the reason for clean and hygienic corridors and rooms. The warden of the hostel is very caring and makes sure we feel at home here. The repairs and problems will be noted and will be solved in a limited period. There is no issue with food since we are served four times a day and the mess could be changed if we are not adjusted to the food. On an overall basis, this hostel is very affordable, comfortable, and well-maintained.

NMKRV's campus is a peaceful oasis in the bustling city of Bangalore with a huge lawn in the center of the college. The lush greenery and well-maintained gardens create an environment for learning. The infrastructure is modern, and the classrooms are equipped with audio-visual aids to enhance the learning experience. The college also takes the safety and security of its students seriously. There are stringent security measures in place, ensuring a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all.

The cultural festivals at NMKRV Degree College for Women are a testament to the diversity and vibrancy of the student body. Events like "Kalajyothi" showcase the talents of the students in various cultural activities, including dance, music, drama, and art. These festivals not only provide a platform for students to showcase their skills but also foster a sense of unity and celebration within the college community.
