Techno Main Salt Lake BBA Review By Kapil Maheshwari

TISL (Techno India Salt Lake) fall under TIG (Techno India Group). The campus is located at at Sector 5. The college is affiliated to Makaut University and has entrance exams for most of its courses. The college is famous for its technical courses, but BBA is not bad either. Techno India may not be known outside Bengal but certainly holds an excellent reputation among the locals. The parameters that I will be discussing in my review mentioned under. The syllabus is as prescribed by Makaut University and the infrastructure is world class. Yes, some buildings do need some renovations but overall it's good. The faculty are experienced, and college has almost all the resources to be at the top. If I be honest, for the students who wants a BBA Degree and are economically sound, TISL entertains a lot of backdoor entries and thus you can easily get admissions here. If you want to come and build career out of BBA then please stay away.

Academic wise the college has done well as they provide air-conditioned classrooms that are furnished well and guarantee a full comfort to the students. The institute also has smart boards and all the advanced technology that one can ask for. I am saying about what it was 7 years back and I am sure it must have added from thereon. TISL has established a successful learning environment by prioritizing the demands of the student and help student contribute and develop in consolidating their future. I will again say that college will make you smart but won’t guarantee great placements.

The modern classrooms require teacher who can incorporate modern teaching skills. The college has done exactly that as most of the faculty members were IIM graduate who inspired us to have that target in mind. Their words touched me and faculty members were no less proud than my parents. As soon as I got a call from IIM-Kolkata, I rushed to meet my faculty members and took their blessings. I have the highest regard for the faculty of TISL and you can have anybody’s word for that matter, the answer will be the same.

Due to its huge reputation the bids were invited and companies such as ITC, CESC, some IT companies, banks, and some local companies attended the placement week. I don’t know what the institute claims but I will give you a reality check that only 20-30% students got placements and the college hyped that more than it should have. Off-campus, you will easily score placement as the college is a known one but still opting higher studies would be a better thing to do.

The TIU group don’t have hostel in the campus, but they provide hostel facility as they have partnered with CESC and many other hostels that accommodates students. The college location to be honest is not that favorable and therefore many people rather stayed at Alipore as there are many residential flats for students there and there’s a direct metro that will drop you near the college. Kolkata is a student hub and therefore finding PGs and flats won’t be difficult if one don’t feel like staying in the hostel as they are strict and any offense with that will expel them both from college and the hostel.

TIU and TISL share the same campus and the area is over 30 acres for sure. The college definitely has over 100 labs as the number of courses offered are many. Every department has their own building or at least 2-3 floors in the huge buildings that the college has. If the classrooms are smart, then the library too must be digital and yes that is the case. The reading room is spacious and can easily accommodate 400-500 students at a time. Digital book bank, reprographic facilities and question banks were easily available at the library. The college provided us digital repositories and that made us has a hassle-free access to books and study materials from anywhere and at any point in time. The college has the best set of sporting facilities and various prominent sporting personalities have also visited our campus. The college has believed in holistic grooming and thereby provided us with sporting facilities like football, cricket, table tennis, swimming, and badminton among others. Students from TISL have participated at various domestic tournaments and have bagged medals as well. Now comes the foodie part and there is 1 canteen, 1 cafeteria, and 1 outlet of CCD. Thus, you will have a bunch of options to choose from in case you're craving. I don’t think there’s any stopping because the infrastructure of the college is just too good.

West Bengal has produced some of the finest artists and Techno India has tried its best to take that forward. As many as 10-12 events are organized in the college every year and teachers encourage each one of us to showcase the skills that we have got. Canteen was our den after the college as we have made the best use of it. Making fun of teachers, pulling each other’s legs and enjoying with friends is how I spent three glorious years of my life.
