Campus Life at TMSL Kolkata: Clubs, Events, and More

Techno Main Salt lake, a well-known tier-3 College in Kolkata for engineering, BBA, BCA and PG courses. I am a 1st year student, pursuing B.Tech with CSE. I got into this college through my WBJEE rank. I got this college in second round of the counseling. Last year, the mop-up round closed at 7002 (General category) for CSE. According to my experience, this provides an environment filled with competitions and inspirations for innovation. It is a perfect place to grow up for the future professional fields. Here are various scopes to explore own self and touch own dreams and goals.

I have already mentioned that I am pursuing B.Tech with CSE. I had no previous plan for studying Engineering. I was a running year student and just for experience gave the WBJEE entrance exam. Luckily, I ranked under 10000 and got a chance for studying Engineering from any good college in West Bengal. Learning resources for the semester exams are provided from the college. Practical classes are very strict and labs are very well structured.

During admission, we had to pay Rs. 85,000. It was the 1st semester fee. Rests are as per the following: For 2nd semester, it is Rs. 76,000, for 3rd & 4th semester, it is Rs. 73,000, for 5th & 6th semester, it is Rs.74,000, and for 7th & 8th semester, it is Rs. 75,000. In total, we have to pay around Rs. 6,05,000. We have to pay Rs. 1,200 as per MAKAUT regulation in each semester. One more added information, during admission, having online payment method or debit cards are needed. Offline payment modes such as cash or cheque were not allowed.

Faculties of TMSL Kolkata are very well and supportive. Proper notes for each chapters will be given by them. Lab faculties are also very helpful; they teach every experiment with proper guidance. If anyone attends the theory classes sincerely and makes proper notes, he needs no extra times for clearing doubts on the topic. For higher studies, the faculties encourage very much. But in classroom instead of the semester syllabus, they can't discuss more, due to the shitty time limits and frequent CAs. Many faculties give their phone numbers for any further doubts and queries.

Placements of TMSL Kolkata are not bad here. This year including TCS, Wipro, and 53+ other MNCs & startup companies come to our campus and hire many students. Most of the students of IT department had been placed this year. Not only placements, many internship opportunities also come to the students.

College infrastructure is okay. Overall, it's enough to survive. The environment is very neat and clean. Plenty of trees are there in the campus. There are two canteens in the campus. Print and Xerox facility is available in the campus. Campus ground is of average size. I can't say the exact acres but according to my estimation, it's not so large but also not so small. There are two fields and both of these are always open to play.

The campus life is very enchanting. There are several clubs. They arrange several events. From January to middle of May, many events are held. Each club comes back in this season. From special guests, insightful seminars to several competitions college ground remains busy throughout the months. Students from other colleges attend the fests and competitions. This year, we got a chance to meet Rajendra Parfait Sir in our campus. Not only that, Rupam Islam, Nishant Suri, Sidhu, and many other artists & influencers spread warmth on our campus this year. But those events are not only to enjoy but also to explore, learn, and grow.
