Sir KP College of Commerce B.Com Review By Nilesh Sharma

Surat has many private colleges that are entangled with 5-star facilities but not our college. Still, ours is one of the most reputed commerce college not just in Surat but entire South Gujarat. Student from Vapi to Bharuch all come and study in our college. For academics the college is the best and most of the students are also pursuing CA simultaneously. Many CA classes are nearby and therefore both can be managed. From infrastructure point of view the college is not that big but both the buildings that college has are clean and have every damn facility that are required during college life. The life at campus is decent the only problem is that it’s all Gujarati crowd and my friends do pull my leg for the same that why I have chosen this college. All said and done the college is good if you looking from academic point of view but if you want rich brats coming to college on Porsche or girls wearing short-skirts and heels then I am sorry you won’t find any such thing in this college.

The college is the best when it comes to academics part. The classes are conducted regularly for B.Com from 7am to 11am. Even CA students are not excused as the college is clear that they can join evening classes for CA but college even they will have to come. Even the students doing article ship are also given a letter from the college that they can give it to their employer that they will only be available after college hours. All this has helped college in becoming a brand for studies. It is not a first choice college as everyone looks for lavish and Porsche colleges which obviously ours is not.

One of the best for sure. Just one complain that because 80% students are Gujarati the teachers too start explain it in Gujarati which is not fair on our part. On asking they do explain the same in English and Hindi again. Their teaching style can be related to modern way of teaching as they give examples for each topic while studying. The students who basic accounting knowledge required fine-tuning after 12th have all become adept in accounting as that is main in B.Com. The faculty also provided study materials and were also free-handed when it came to giving marks.

Not from college campus but most of the students from this college find some or the other work. Surat is a developing city and workforce is required. Many of my batch mates are working as an accountant in many textile companies and are all happy as they got promotions earlier than they anticipated. From college yes there is no placement cell or any such opportunity not provided even to the BBA students forget about B.Com.

There are some outsiders in the college but not that many that college should have its own hostel. Also, there’s hardly any space in and around the campus where college can have its own hostel. In Athwa lines many students from various cities of Gujarat come to prepare for CA and therefore a lot of flats and paying guests are easily available in the nearby area. The accommodation in the area will cost you around 5-10k depending upon the facilities that you choose but you will have enough options for sure.

From where shall I begin because the college infrastructure is stunning. The 2 labs that are there in the campus include Commerce and Computer lab. The college has a huge library and there are 2 reading rooms as well. One is below the library and one is above the library. Commerce Bhavan Auditorium that has a seating capacity of 500 students is there inside the campus. The college has 2 in-door badminton court and a basketball court. There’s a sports ground that is not inside the campus but it is owned by college. The college has a separate parking area for boys and girls. The college infrastructure is not as worthy but certainly no less for sure as well.

The college is not so happening for Suratites as there are many party animals in the town. To cater their needs many fake and happening Universities have been started. Our college means business and that is why study is the only thing that happens in the college. After college hours you are not even allowed to stay for long in the college this is how strict our college is. In inter-college events our college does participate but as you know our college has produced many CA students but definitely not Prachi Desai. Our college also provides equal opportunities but the students who join this college are in a way serious about their studies more than extra-curricular activities. All I would say is if you are serious about studies the college will help you make your basics clear about the subject and like many commerce student who are counting sarees in shop will at least sit on a desk and do accounting if you have studied in this college.
