Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science BJMC Review By Gautami Jadhav

The reason I chose Pillai's College was because I actually didn't know what to do with my education as a commerce student. I didn't have much interest in commerce but I always wanted to do something related to writing. That's where Pillai's brochure of courses helped me. It had thorough details about what all courses the college offers and there BMM was mentioned along with the subjects for each semester. If you do not know what course to choose, BMM is the way forward.

The basic eligibility for taking admission is Pillai's BMM course is scoring 66% in commerce or science field in your 12th. The BMM course does not offer a diploma course so one needs to have his complete 12th passing certificate. The course is of 3 years with 2 semesters each year (total 6 semesters) and each semester has about 6 different subjects like photography, English, accounting, IT, CS, history, etc.

I personally think that the faculty hired in Pillai's Institute is top-notch. The teachers and lecturers assigned to BMM course, all have diverse educational backgrounds. Someone teaching history in other bachelor’s degree will be assigned to teach us for our history lecture so we get the best of knowledge from subject matter expertise. The application-based subjects like photography and IT requires more practical education that theory so we are provided with teachers who has relevant degrees in the subjects.

PCACS offers amazing placement programs and opportunities. There is a placement department within the infrastructure in Navi Mumbai on the 2nd floor. It is near the admissions office. Last year, more than 100 people got placements in our college and about 10 got placements from BMM alone. You can go to the PCACS website and navigate to the placement section. Pillai's College has placed posters of the placements online. Students can become eligible in their last semesters and many reputed companies like IDBI, Exam Pil, Accord Fintech, Accenture, etc. visits our campus during placement campaigns.

PCACS offers hostel facilities around all the campuses. My college is based in Panvel, Navi Mumbai and the hostel is right next to it. Girls’ hostel and boys’ hostel have separate buildings and hygiene is maintained like no other hostel. I personally didn't avail the hostel facilities but my fellow classmates were living there and they shared some great feedback about the facilities. The food provided as well as the security is really top-tier. Especially the safety of the girls' hostel is taken very seriously by the authorities.

The campus of Pillai's is really fresh and modern. The construction is not that old and you can see that the college takes their maintenance seriously by seeing some or the other area under painting or repair. The classrooms are very spacious and each of them is equipped with cameras, digital screens, and clean benches and great BIG windows. The buildings are, I think, 6-8 floors tall so the lift facilities are always on, regardless of outages. The library is a sight because you will see so many colours over there and it is always full to the maximum capacity. I suggest you visit the campus once and see for yourself. Apart from education-related amenities, the college also offers big grounds for badminton, cricket, basketball, and football.

I had the best memories while studying in this college. The best fest of all "ALLEGRIA" is something that I think every Navi Mumbai student should attend. The college really puts in funds to invite famous artists like Honey Sigh and Darshan Raval, International DJs like marshmallow, and so much more. But more than that, the college organises fun competitions related to dance, singing, architecture, IT, gaming, and so much more. Every student gets a chance to take part in something that suits him/her the best. I personally think that PCACS offers great educational and extracurricular experience.
