Ramakrishna Mission Residential College B.Sc Review By Nilimoy Das

After giving HS, I had too many opportunities to get admitted in various colleges as I got above 90%. I also filled up in 5 colleges like SXC Kolkata, Midnapore College, City College, Asutosh College, etc. but then my uncle told me about the Ramakrishna Mission. The divine place where not only education is given but also good manners, good personality, good human, etc. are taught. Then I gave admission test here and admitted here. First impression wasn't good as there's early morning prayer, strict disciplines, etc. But with time I managed it. The environment and weather and the behaviour of every single person is not writable. They are very friendly. There's no ragging like other colleges. The meal that is given in hostel is brilliant compared to others. And about academics there's no competition at all. Almost every year all students get opportunity to join job after their graduation. I am currently in 1st year and having a great Brahmachari life.

I am in the department of chemistry. When I got admitted I had 90% in chemistry and around 85% in physics and 93% in math. Basically you have to be best one of your on school to get admitted here. The entrance test is not easy. You have to know the subject to get answers. And once you admitted here the teachers and hostel supervisor will get you. They will make you in their way. You have to follow them. Attend every classes. And you will be also top here, actually everyone is topper here. I am telling about my department only but same cases if you see other's as you have to share your hostel room with other students of other departments. Overall everything is very fine.

There are about 15 teachers in every department. In my department everyone has Ph.D. All are very much talented. They will teach you in your way. They are very much friendly. You can get in touch with them whenever you want. Some teachers are very strict but you will manage to love them with time just like I do. Overall great.

Yes, there is Placement Cell in my college. Every week college arranges meeting with various companies to get in touch with students. They are also glad to get these students in this companies. So, yes there's too much possibilities to get into job until you finish your degree as of now and till end I think.

There is hostel in Ramakrishna Mission Residential College. So you have to stay in hostel. There's 4 hostel here. You will be given a hostel depending on your subject. I live in GOURANGA BHAVANA. The best hostel I think. There are 250 students in this hostel. The infrastructure of this hostel is very nice. You have to stay with other 3 students in a room. You will get meals of 4 times a day. There are fresh drinking water and good bathrooms that are cleaned every week. Hostel is very neat and clean.

What I can say about academics. Everything is literally at best. There are two buildings of this college. Main college building and annex building. There are also many more schools in our campus for 1-12. Then there are about 20 hostels in whole ASHRAMA. For monks there are different buildings. Central library is also available for every person.

Overall campus life is very exciting. You get in touch with all your batch mates. You can study in group also can increase your knowledge and friendship. You will be a good man here. The full area is green. Environment is very clean. Not too much crowd no pollution. Fests are arranged in every week for students. Sports competition is also arranged. Indoor games are also allowed. Overall I would recommend this college for sure.
