SKACAS Coimbatore is Recognised by UGC

The College has a good reputation for its state-of-the art campus and vibrant campus culture. I considered joining the College as it was recommended to me by my sister. Once, I visited the campus, I felt like I walked into paradise. The greenery is stunning. It looked phenomenon especially during monsoon with the foggy atmosphere. This is the aspect, which stands out among most Colleges in Coimbatore. This course was affordable for someone from a middle class family. In fact, this is one of the most budgets friendly among all the Colleges in the area. If you are someone who is focused more on studies and less in extracurricular activities, then this College is best option. Holidays were given adequately too. Placement opportunities are very satisfactory in this College and are the source of its good reputation. One might be from any background, they are sure to be placed in companies that are trusted and use students’ talents well. They conduct cultural events as well. Therefore, I would recommend this College to someone who wants a low-key College life with less distractions & fun times with friends.

I have chosen the B.Sc Psychology course at the College. I enrolled here because of it is recognised by UGC, its affordable, and personal recommend actions. To join this course, there are no special requirements. I was enrolled here even before my 12th board results were out. The admission process is simple as well. One is required to go to the campus and have a meeting with the department faculty where they explain everything and ask for documents to be submitted such as Aadhaar card, tcs, etc. The fee is to be paid in cash. Exams are conducted thrice in a semester, which are 2 internals and 1 external exam conducted its affiliating University. This can be applied for all courses under this College. The subject that I have chosen requires practical exposure more than bookish knowledge. Therefore, the academics provided here might help with preparing for entrance exams. Apart from that, one requires more than classroom knowledge or academics provided by the College to move forward in this field.

At the Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, fee is to be paid in each semester. For the first semester, I had to pay Rs. 21,000/-. The fee structure includedtuition fee of Rs. 15,000/-, special course fee of Rs. 5350/-, and exam fee of Rs. 845/-. If you were to choose French or Hindi as language, then an additional Rs. 1000/- need to be paid. Scholarships are available for students as well.

For the B.Sc Psychology course, the faculties were changing constantly. We had new faculties almost every semester. Most of our faculties have cleared the exam required to be an assistant professor (NET Psychology) while some of them were actively pursuing their Ph.Ds well. Teaching method was through PPTs. This is helpful during examinations when notes are readily available. The current faculty is skilled in their domain therefore, they have good problem solving ability. Since the strength of my class is less the number of faculties is also less which balances it out. It would be better if we had 2 more faculties, one HOD who is from a Psychology background. Our current HOD is also a very approachable person. Approachability is a specialty of my department. The faculties are very friendly and one can talk about anything with them be it issues with studies or personal problems.

A Placement Cell is present in the SKACAS Coimbatore. The placement co-ordinator is very helpful & is very approachable. He coordinates with multiple companies to provide the best opportunities & takes into consideration the best interests of all students. During our 5th semester, a 10-day training program was conducted where we learnt valuable skills. Renowned companies that visit our College are Zoho, TCS, Accenture, Flipkart, etc. The average package is around 3 LPA to 4LPA. The highest package offered has been 12 LPA. I was placed in a MNC as well. My placement experience was smooth & communication was proper.

The College provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Girl’s hostel is far away from the Sri Krishna Adithya College of Arts and Science Coimbatore whereas boy’s hostel is present within the campus. As I am not a hosteller, I am not familiar with the fee structure and other information. Security is strict, as girls are not allowed to leave between class hours without approval.

There are overall 4 blocks and a Placement Cell- Admin Block, Science Block, Commerce Block, & IT Block. The campus is on top of a mountain therefore, there is a lot of greenery and vegetation. Classrooms at the College are all available in different sizes. My class is the smallest of the classrooms as our strength is low. Every class is equipped with projector and screen. Some of the classrooms even have blackboards. There is one digital library and a seminar hall. The auditorium is big. We also have one open-air theatre where cultural take place sometimes. There is a huge playground with Basketball court & Cricket ground. Ambulance is available for medical emergencies. Transportation is available too. Many canteens provide delicious food and snacks. My favorite part of the infrastructure is the presence of beautiful flowers and trees. It provides a calm atmosphere where one can spend quality time. Even classrooms are ventilated and provide a beautiful view, supporting a good study environment.

My overall campus life is moderately satisfactory. The College crowd is okayish. The College is not too crowded or sparse. Clubs are available & students can join any club of their choice. Recently clubs have been working well compared to previous years. I am a part of the Fine Arts Club but there is little opportunity for networking. Extracurricular activities are conducted & encouraged as well. However, the good academics compensates for this downside. Campus life is good. If you get good company, then College life would be a breeze.
