Ramaiah Institute of Management PGDM Review By Paramita Das

After completing my BBM, I need to get a good college in Bangalore, where I found the Ramaiah Institute of Management. College was very strict with its timing. If we come late for the class, we were not allowed to enter that class. They were very particular about the rules, and we are not allowed to repeat our mistakes. RIMS MBA admission is done through entrance examination, which includes GD & PI. After that, one more aptitude round which has to clear then the admission process used to start.

As an ex-student, I am very glad that I have got the opportunity to study in Ramaiah. Regular class used to start at 8:30 am and complete by 5:30pm. This was mandatory to attend the class for the full day because you used to have attendance and the report has to go to our parents. The practical and interactive session was included in the curriculum and this activity used to build our confidence. They have even guided us on how to manage work in corporate culture. We have even had internships, which was a big platform to learn industry work. In this, we had to go to industry and learn their work culture.

All are very good when it comes to the matter of our Marketing specialization. Some are very experienced, and they are doing research. They have industry experience, and they give practical examples. For marketing, student’s instinct matters, and this tough by the faculty. They used to teach us in such a way that we can become the future leader in this corporate world.

Since this is a very old college, it has nice corporate network where they can give you placement assurity. Many companies started coming when we were in the 3rd semester. I got selected for Wipro, and future got appreciation from my boss. The package also was good a couple of years back. After that, also I was having a chance to sit for the interview for other companies so that I can have a better option.

They have a hostel separate for girls and boys. They have their hostel, and girls have to share their rooms. There was triple and double sharing, and the price used depends on that. One common room was available where every student can make a group and do the group study. Security guards used to be available 24/7.

The main campus of Ramaiah is very big, but ours is separated as MBA (business management) campus, so it is not much significant. Every department has a separate room. If you are interested in sports, then you need to go to the main campus.

We were so happy in the college because of our campus selection. We were pretty much sure that we will get placed in some reputed company. MBA did not give us time to enjoy other things, but we have enjoyed enough in our studies for college. We used to have an Alumni meet where we used to enjoy ourselves together, and this is unforgettable, and still I missed those days. Ramaiah’s life was so good that I still miss those days.
