NIFT Chennai is too good as compare to other designing institutes. The fee for NIFT College Chennai is little bit high because of machines and the other art facilities which they provide to their students. They also provide student exchange programme for other foreign design institutes, which is best thing to enhance more knowledge from best design faculties from other countries. As being a NIFT student I can definitely say that the entrance exams are not so tough. According to me NIFT CAT and GAT entrance 2016 exam was not very tough. With my experience I can surely say that if you are eager to join NIFT, go ahead. You can easily crack the entrance. Just need to do the proper prepration.

I had completed my B.Des from NIFT Chennai. Join a NIFT centre was like my biggest dream. Some subjects were quite tough for me like merchandising but because of Ashish sir, this got easier. He was best for this subject. He used the easiest way to make us understand.

There were about 9 faculties for my course. 2-3 faculties were guest faculties. They only came for like few days to teach us some particular subjects or topics. The college use to call craftsman for workshop from so many different areas. Where we got to learn about tribal masks, bamboo products from them. All the faculties from my college are from NIFT only. They always helped us to clear every doubt. They had minimum 13-14 year of experience in same college only. They are like best supporters, best mentors ever. The experiences were being a NIFTian was fabulous, and the credit goes to the faculties only. The big thanks to them.

In the second year we were asked to do 2 months of internship. Faculties provided us the best companies for internship for each and every one of us with their own contacts and experience. In the last year we had to do graduation project from a company. In that also they helped so many students to get their companies. They are damn supporting. For placements NIFT is best. They call the best companies. In my batch 80% students got placed. The higher package was Rs. 14.5 lacks per annum, and the lower one was Rs. 5.7 lacks. The student which got the best package was hired from some Bangladeshi export company. I got placed in Shahi Exports Bangalore with the package of Rs. 4.7 lacks per annum.

There were separate hostels for girls and boys. They had 4 blocks for girls and 2 blocks for boys, and in each block there are around 20-30 rooms. In first year I got 3 seater room, and in the sixth semester we all got separate rooms. NIFT Chennai Hostel fee was around Rs. 50k per semester. There are approx 15 guards. CCTV cameras were there. Warden was good. He was use to treat us like their own kids only. Food was great. They had so many different foods in their menu. Veg and non-veg both were there and on Sundays we got some special food items. Must say NIFT hostels are like best hostels as compare to other collage hostels.

They have a huge campus, with so many different buildings for different courses. They have their own building for master's students also. The library was very good. There are thousands of books to learn with different crafts from all around world and about their culture and living. So many inspirations you can get from there. They have their own stationary, where you can get most of the things you want for projects. No need to go outside of the campus. Cafeteria was best. They have 3 cafeterias in the campus. The best thing about food was, as I am a north Indian, the south Indian food was like love for me. Medical facilities were excellent. They call their own doctor for students.

NIFT Chennai Campus is I can say the best campus ever. Just because of warm weather AC is must. This is the best place for fashion enthusiastic students. Every year they do so many activities for students like craft related fest, Garba nights, fashion shows, cultural fest, spectrum and converge etc. The best thing was converge. Where about nearly 800 students from across 16 NIFT centers join on one centre. The event includes sports, cultural programmes, live performances of top famous singers and so many different activities.
