Hiraben Nanavati Institute of Management & Research for Women is an excellent platform for women's Empowerment. The institute carries a legacy of excellent academics. Institute is a women only Educational Institute. Every Student who entered the Institute becomes a favorite for the Institute and treated like a daughter by all Teachers, staff, and Management. It is located in Pune at Karvenagar. It is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. It is accredited by ACBSP, DTE, and AICTE. Institute has received an A+ grade by NAAC. It is one of the esteemed Institutions established by Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha. To join this premium Institute, you have to appear for CET (Common Entrance Exam), like for any other Institute the score and cut-off markings are considered for admission. Any Graduate can apply for this. Through the entire admission process staff and even teachers guide the student on premises. Management of the Institute is always helpful and supports the students.

I joined HNIMR in the year 2017. I opted for a Master’s in Business Management with a Finance specialization. After my Graduation in Commerce, I appeared for CET there I scored well, and combining my graduation percentile I was lucky to get shortlisted in the first list published by Institute. I prefer this Institute for two basic reasons. One is the Women’s Institute. Secondly the feedback I received from Alumni. There were all standard options available for specialization like Finance, HR, Marketing, Computers, Operations, etc. As per the CET course and your own choice you need to prioritize and select. As I know there are good job opportunities in the finance field, I prefer the Finance specialization.

Institute has some amazing faculty members. For me, the journey of academics was more like a fun and learning course. Each subject had different specialized faculty. There was clubbing like finance teacher will only teach you Taxation. For taxation, we had a specialized qualified chartered Accountant and for finance, the faculty was a doctorate in finance subject. All the teachers carry a Ph.D. degree and were of a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in teaching. Each expert had their own teaching method. The understanding was the main focus than completing the syllabus. We had few extra lectures also and we attended them with enthusiasm as each class used to be a fun and learn session. A Complicated subject like Statistics was difficult for girls who were from a commerce background, but Dr. Sonali Parchure Madam made it very easy and amazing.

The placement was a little issue. We had good training sessions where the experts from the industry deliver a lecture on what HR and company management expects from freshers, how to draw an impressive Resume etc. Banks like Kotak, HDFC Bank visited the campus and recruited candidates as Probationary officers. Other than Bank companies like Cognizant, Capgemini, idea, TCS also visited and had a bunch of trainees’ recruitments. The highest package offered was by TCS i.e., 9 lakhs P.A. On average girl got 6.80 lakhs P.A. package for our batch. Nearly 70 percent of girls got placed through Campus but by the time our results were out 100 percent of girls got jobs.

The college has a trusted hostel facility for girls at Baya Karve Hostel. It is just 500 meters away from the college campus. Total 125 rooms are available combining engineering and management students. Each room has occupancy of three students. The hostel is neat and clean. It is very well managed. The girls-only institute has a girls-only hostel and boys are strictly not allowed anywhere on the Hostel campus. The hostel fee is also very much reasonable in comparison with other institutes and facilities in the city. The canteen is attached to the hostel and good quality vegetarian food is served. Maharashtrian Breakfast and high tea are also available at a very reasonable rate.

The Institute is built in a one-acre area at Karvenagar. There is one main building and one combine canteen for Engineering and MBA students. The rest of the place is decorated with beautiful plants and trees. The main building is five-storeyed and quite huge. The ground floor has an administrative office, teachers’ room, placement cell, etc. from the first-floor computer lab and library section starts. The third, fourth and fifth floors are dedicated to classrooms. Classrooms are large and well equipped with projectors and electricity points for Laptops. The library has different sections like finance, Marketing, HR, etc. Sit pout places are neat and clean. Laboratory and computers are well placed and every computer lab has one assistant to help students in case of any difficulty. Institute doesn’t have its own playground. The cafeteria is very neat and clean staff is very friendly. As this is girls only Institute a very well-managed Medical and Emergency facilities are facilitated by Management. So that in case of any emergency girls can avail professional first aid in the premises only.

I spent two years of my life in this institute and today I feel like those were the best days of my life. The campus has lush greenery, peaceful environment. Girls always find themselves busy in different activities and each activity adds in many learnings. The interaction between student and teacher is very friendly and girls can easily suggest ideas and can discuss problems with teachers. Every day is a celebration here but all calendar festivals are more of fun and enjoyment. This institute is the best secured, learning place where girls can explore themselves and peruse self-talent as their career. I will always recommend it.
