Vasantdada Patil Pratishthan's College of Engineering & Visual Arts B.Tech Review By Tanmayee Joshi

I have done a degree in Computer Science from Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Pratishthan’s College of Engineering. The college has a huge infrastructure with various streams like the computer, IT, Electronics, and telecommunications. As the college is located at the eastern express highway, there are multiple options of transportations. The college comes under the Mumbai University pattern with 2 semesters per year. The college has a huge campus with a playground at the back. The admission process went quite smoother as I got my place in the first list of merit itself after my diploma.

I had joined the computer engineering stream as I had done a diploma in the same. For the 12th pass out, CET is the normal entrance examination that needs to be cleared with the required score. As I was diploma pass out, 1st year was exempted and I directly got admission in 2nd year. I was infatuated with the computer and its functioning. So naturally, I wanted to become a computer engineer. The overall subject is relevant to the course and is useful at the same time. The computer engineering stream is full of such subjects throughout the years which of course help in getting the perfect job.

The college has multiple faculties for every subject with a higher level of excellence. Professors and HODs are always ready to help to resolve the queries. As the college has multiple staff for each subject, getting through every semester with a good percentage is easier. Most of the faculty is highly experienced in their respective streams. 80% of the staff is B.Tech and M.Tech cleared, and some staff was pursuing their M.Tech when I was in the college. It becomes smooth and easy to understand the subject when the teachers are masters it. Every query is resolved in a friendly manner.

PVPP has plenty of opportunities when it comes to placements. The college offers various job opportunities for toppers as well as for average students. Top companies such as TCS, Rave Technologies, Capgemini, and some other companies were arranged their placement events. The highest package offered was 8LPA by TCS. Most of the students were placed in TCS with an average package of 3 to 4LPA. The campus placement was smoother and well arranged. Most of the students were placed in TCS during my batch. And rest were trying to grab their opportunities through online and offline campus interviews.

PVPP does not provide any Hostel facility to the students. But apart from that, there are other various facilities available on the campus like the library, canteen, Xerox center, etc.

Vasantdada Patil College of Engineering has a giant campus and a big playground with ample space for students to play, roam, or doing activities during festival times. The college premises is 6 floored with multiple classrooms as per different streams, computer laboratories, Electronics laboratories, staff rooms, offices, canteen, xerox center, auditorium, engineering drawing rooms, etc. The college has one indoor and one outdoor canteen with usual snacks prepared in a hygienic atmosphere. The college does have a medical room and first aid kit during emergencies. As the staff is friendly, students are safe in such situations as well.

Our college is well equipped and has a bigger campus as compared to other engineering colleges in Mumbai. When you have a huge campus, chilling out with friends becomes more happening and enjoyable. The playground is ready with cricket and basketball stuff so that friends can enjoy games in their free lectures. The college has an amazing annual festival called Fusion with various competitions and fashion shows. Apart from the festival college celebrates various days during festivals. Teachers and students altogether celebrate the annual festival and various other cultural activities. Various inter college tech fest competitions are organized with an annual festival to make the student social and active.
