Insights from SRM University

Overall Rating
I am from Punjab, so I was planning to go abroad. But due to rejection of passport, it was cancelled. I also took a drop year due to this. But at the end, I was left with only one option to take admission in a private college. I took papers for two colleges. One was for VIT and the other for SRMJEE. I passed both but wanted to choose CSE. So, I was only eligible for SRM. Now, I am at SRM Ghaziabad. My overall review will be 6/10. The reason is that the college is not up to the mark. Only good thing is faculty and placement.
 

Academics Rating
There are many courses related to B.Tech including CSE Core and many specialisations like AIML, data science, cyber security, and CSBS in CSE. Pharmacy, BBA, and BCA are also there. But if you want to come here, the only good course is CSE. Entry requirement is just giving SRMJEE, score of your 12th and 10th doesn't matter. My motive to come here was that I was interested in CSE.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is one thing you can expect here. Most of the faculty members are down to earth and always ready to help. Every 30 students are assigned a mentor. Mentor helps you in every possible field, be it related to academics or any other problems. Everything that you expect a mentor to do. All the professors have their unique traits and teach everything in a sophisticated manner. They never rush any topic and yes, you can ask any question during the lecture unlike many colleges.
 

Placement Rating
Placement is the prime reason why I chose SRM. This college has brand value which helps most of the student get placed. Also, there is a Placement Cell at our institute. It helped many seniors acquire confidence and skills to crack interviews. They do make you industry ready.
 

Hostel Rating
There are hostels in campus and yes, choose hostel if you want to live hostel life. No point in living outside in PG or flat from first year. But there is a lack of infrastructure and facilities; they do not have any fruit shop, barber, general store, and many necessary things which should be there in any college.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure of this campus is not good and not designed properly. Structure of building and academic block is like 1950's or even worse. There is only one academic block. Also, the campus is very small. There should be shops like fruit shop, barber, confectionary store, etc., but those basic amenities are also not provided. So you can think for yourself.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is good. There are many DJ nights in a single year and many engagement activities. Also, clubs are there like automobile, Kalamgiri, acting, CSI, dancing, gaming, etc. You can join any club of your choice. Fests do happen once a year but that did not happen this year. But you can enjoy your campus life in any college, doesn't matter which college. The most important thing is to have good friends.

    SRM University Ghaziabad is all about just academics. Overall, the experience is good. The campus life can be compromised. If you look at the other side, it is worth it.
