Christ College of Engineering B.Tech Review By Agnes Shanoj

I chose this college due to its high performance in academics. Within just 9 years of experience CCE was able to get to top 5 in the semester exam results as well as to be NBA accredited which is not an easy task for a college with that short duration of experience. This college not only give importance to academics, but motivates the students to participate in all other extracurricular activities like sports, arts etc. Also this college is in its mission to make students capable of the industrial demands as soon as they pass out. CCE has a huge record of placement rate even at the currents recession crisis.

CCE at the moment has 6 B.Tech branches that are Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Data Science Engineering. Also from this year onwards MBA batches are also started. The course I am enrolled in is Electronics and Communication Engineering. Since the future opens a huge platform for VLSI technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering has a huge scope. Eligibility is to score above 90% in plus two boards and rank less than 25000 for B.Tech seat.

All the faculty members are well experienced and have really good knowledge about the field they are in. All the faculty members are very friendly to the students and are determined to give their best for the benefit of students. They are not hesitant to solve our doubts and take extra class if needed. One important characteristic of our college is that the management always makes sure that the faculty members are well informed and updated in their respective fields so that they are capable of supporting the young engineering aspirants. They also support and encourage the students to enroll in various hackathons so that they are able to build an industry oriented skill set.

Yes CCE of course have a placement cell. The placement cell analyses the performance of each student and provides them personal assistance to improve the areas of improvement. They conduct various value added program so that students become familiar with the industry demands and environment. A program called young professional training is also done as per the schedule which improves the overall behavior and mannerisms of the students along with communication skills and confidence.

Yes CCE provides hostel accommodations for boys and girls separately. Hostlers are satisfied with the hostel facilities provided. There is a canteen with friendly management team too.

The campus of CCE is not that big in first view, but as you dive in to it, there is a lot to explore. There are at present three academic blocks namely: St Chavara, St Marys and St Josephs block. There are also a lot of labs which include different types of labs of each department. There is even tutorial room for each class and the number of labs is huge. There is also a well maintained garden and a large canteen with a large variety of food. All classes are smart with smart TVs and also a 'Civil Space' for leisure. There is a huge library in which an e-library is also present which has a lot of features including NPTEL. There is also a huge auditorium, amphitheater, a small forest area, basketball court, cricket field, football ground and much more. The campus also offers IELTS and GATE courses as well. There is a hub of talrop as well.

The campus life of CCE is set in a way that students can balance their academics and entertainment equally. CCE offers a large number of fests. Mechanical fest that includes autoshow, PRISMA, TechFest, Qubit, Arts day and the list goes on. As per the suggestion of students one hour every week for each class is allotted for sports activities. All these activities have helped students get a hold on their life and balance academics. Also Christmas and Onam are celebrated with a lot of joyful activities.
