AIIMS Bathinda is a medical college and hospital which went functional in 2019. I joined this college in 2022, its every medical aspirant’s dream to get admission in an All India Institute Of Medical Sciences, irrespective of its location. AIIMS Bathinda is the fastest growing AIIMS among newer ones and is fully established in terms of its great infrastructure and campus. The amount of exposure you get at an AIIMS is enormous as compared to a normal medical college. I chose this college because it is near to my home and due to its great infrastructure.

Academics here at AIIMS Bathinda are of the highest level and growing day by day. Not only the theoretical knowledge but the practical exposure here at AIIMS Bathinda is of highest quality. This helps in bringing the best out of a student making them to be a great doctor in future. In addition to these, the faculty here helps the medical student to participate in their research projects like short term studentship and other individual researches thus providing a great exposure to the students.

The faculty here at AIIMS Bathinda is from different colleges and has done their graduation and post graduation from different colleges. The faculty is very co-operative with the students and they teach mainly in English or Hindi. As in medical colleges, the professors themselves are doctors so they are highly qualified in their profession. But irrespective of the faculty, it’s on the students, how much they acquire.

No, there isn’t any placement cell for the MBBS students. But after the final year, we have to do an internship for 1 year with a stipend of 30000 a month, which is double than the other government medical colleges. After internship we can apply for job or appear for the NEET PG exam.

Yes, AIIMS provides the best quality hostels for their students. The infrastructure at AIIMS hostel is very good irrespective of being a government college. For recreation table tennis, badminton and other games are played in the hostel. There is a reading room (air conditioned) for the students within the hostel. Heavy electrical appliances are not allowed. All this come for Rs.5000 for 5 years of MBBS in AIIMS.

Being a central institute, AIIMS generally receives high funding directly from government thus providing best infrastructure in the hospital and college. The hospital is well equipped with best level of machines. The campus is spread in around 200 acres of property and has a fresh environment due to good plantation. The campus right now is in the PHASE 2 of its growth and there is still more to come. With time the whole infrastructure will be built. But now also it is a great place to live with all basic requirements of a medical college fulfilled.

The campus life at our college is good. The campus being spread in 200 acres provides enormous space for different activities. But again the campus is in its growth phase and with time everything will be built here. Right now there are no clubs or fests in this college, but we are trying to form these clubs and organise a fest for our college. To be honest after classes from 9 to 5, students generally don’t get enough time to enjoy the campus. As the campus lies in the periphery, the connectivity with the city is not so great. But everything is being developed with time. There is complete market being built just outside the AIIMS. So All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bathinda is a good place to live and a great medical college to study in.
