Sophia Girls College Ajmer stands for girls’ education and upliftment

After completing 12th every student’s dream is a college which gives an impactful exposure to a student in actual competitive life. I have studied in Sophia Girl’s College (autonomous) Ajmer. The college overall stand for the studies of girls and uplift every woman there. Every day an assembly is conducted by the principal in which he always talks about the important issues, ethics, morality, some people found it boring including me but end of the day you will definitely take something good from there. Furthermore, if we talk about the environment of college it is safe and sound. There are several departments for different fields of studies with required labs like - computer labs, chemistry lab, zoology, biology and what not. The teachers there always provide some value information everyday which makes the college better than other competitive colleges nearby as we know the colleges which are not regular lacks in better academics and cultural activities. but here we are focused on both the things the students has to be enrolled in some kind of activities like - Photography, Videography, drama, music, dance, debate, standup, nukkad natak , and endless things. This gives a chance to every student to get in to some kind of cultural activity and learn new skills. There is also some student council for managing all the ongoing events which provides leadership quality, teamwork, management skills and so on. There are some social impactful groups - women development cell, quizzer’s club and apart from that there are the Government running youth programs also - NCC and NSS which also provides knowledge regarding different aspects. Then there are some generic courses on yoga, self defense, swimming aerobics and so on.

I am from BCA department so I'll majorly focus on describing that but more or less it will go for other degrees also. Bachelor in Computer Application basically focus on the computer based skills which can be inculcated through different subjects - multimedia basics, computer graphics, languages like C, C++, JAVA, python and so on but these are the some languages I learned there which allow me to work on any language. the main agenda is to learn how to solve the problems and make a meaningful app or website through it and there were several other valuable subjects like Open Source, DBMS, networking, security, mobile computing these were the main subjects that were taught me there with valuable resources though sometimes we have problem and teacher were always there to help. It may take little longer sometime but they will always resolve the issue not only technical but they have always stood by me to give me the right direction when I was lost and that makes them the good mentors.

There the faculty is focused in the all over development of a kid. They focus on all the lows and highs of the kid and try to encourage the student to get better every day. The faculties are well educated to teach their field subject. The teachers are asked to focus on different ways of teaching by engaging every student.

The placement is not that good in college. In my year as when there is a time of placement students are not getting up to the mark placement opportunity. This may be because of recession this year. But few students who got the placement in companies like Deutsche Bank and other startups got a decent package.

The hostel there works under the supervision of our vice principal directly and she take care of every student there as a guardian. There the early prayer at 5 AM is compulsory to attend. The students are not allowed to use phone after 10 PM. Infrastructure of hostel is also pretty decent. The mess is also managed decently. Furthermore, the hostel students are not allowed to leave the campus without the permission of principal.

The campus is not that big but the campus is well maintained. The environment there is as wholesome as the campus is plastic free and focused on greenery. there are so many classrooms for every department to conduct the classes with all the facilities required along with that there are 2 auditorium and one big indoor stadium for the events.

It's been a long time and now it feels like second home as we remain there for at least 6 hours a day and enjoyed every day with new learning together. The life at Sophia is also a tag.
