Pillai College of Engineering B.Tech Review By Sankpal Atharv

The overall experience of Pillai College of Engineering has been better than what I had expected in the beginning. I chose this college for the opportunity it offers other than just academics and the place has lived up to my expectations. It helps in an individual’s al-round growth and personal development and prepares oneself for the vast world outside that we are about to face.

Academics have been one of my most favorite qualities about my college. The admission process was smooth and well-aided by the faculty and the staff present at the time of form filling. They were very helpful and co-operative and helped me finish my admission process within a few hours which otherwise is a very long and tiresome process. You can get admission through MHT-CET scores, JEE scores or through management quota. There is special reservation for Malayalam minority community as this is a Malayali minority college.

The faculty is the best part. All faculties are well versed in their respective subjects. They not only teach the subject but also help you develop affection towards the said subject which has really helped me to sit and actually study. Everyone is very supportive and they act more like a mentor than just a teacher which helps one to learn more than what is in the books. Each faculty member has a distinctive style of teaching but they are ready to adjust it in case someone has a difficulty in understanding which ensures everyone understands in class.

Pillai College of Engineering has a very active placement cell called TPC-PCE, they help the students prepare for interviews and also give them opportunities to participate in placement rounds. TPC also conducts various workshops and seminars which help us to understand better and learn more about what companies actually look for during interviews and give us an upper edge during the actual interviews.

Pillai College of Engineering does have hostel facilities for students who are from out of Mumbai.

Pillai, New Panvel campus is larger than what most colleges offer at the moment. It can be a little bit confusing at first and feels like a maze but once you get used to the place it feels like home. Almost every floor has a map diagram of the floor just in case someone needs help in finding their destination perchance. The other infrastructural facilities provided by the college are also very great like the gymkhana, libraries, Xerox center, basketball court, football ground, indoor badminton court, and more. But my favorite place in the campus is the Quad.

Campus life in Pillai exceeds all expectations. Everyday there is something new and interesting happening around the place. Always some celebrity visits the college for promotions or events in the college. The fest- Algeria is one of the most celebrated and famed college festivals in India and it does live up to the hype. Big stars line up for the week long fest. The students are provided with a vast array of choices when it comes to clubs and councils, each with their own benefits and specializations. One can choose the clubs according to their likings and preferences and grow not only academically but as an individual. The campus gives everyone an opportunity to interact and meet new people and learn new things.
