About my college - Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College

Overall Rating
First of all why I choose SMVEC because in Puducherry there are few colleges that provide master degrees in Computer Applications so I choose this college and it is the best and most reputed college in Puducherry. This is the only college with NAAC-A grade and it’s an autonomous college so there is assurance for your placements and job offers.
 

Academics Rating
In academic, they are updated because they are autonomous college and they change the syllabus according to the industrial needs. There is special team for updating syllabus. The stream I was studying in was MCA. The minimum requirement is passed in BCA with at least 6 CGPA. The main motive to join this program is to get into the IT filed.
 

Faculty Rating
In this college the faculty was well experienced and they have technical knowledge in their subjects. Most of the teacher has experience in their field of more than 6 years. They offer both theoretical and practical knowledge. Their teaching background was very good because they worked in many colleges as professors and guest lecturers. The teaching style differs from to teacher to teacher.
 

Placement Rating
About placements in SMVEC Puducherry, the recruiters were from the top companies like Wipro, TCS and many other companies. Every college will assure that they will give 100% placements but they don't but in my college more than 90% of student gets placed in big companies with good LPA. The average LPA in my college is 4 LPA. So there is no worry about the placements and jobs.
 

Hostel Rating
Yeah there is hostel facility available in my college and about the infrastructure it’s pretty good. The fees for hostel are around 80000 for a year. About the hostel buildings, there are two buildings for boys it’s for both UG and PG boys. They give room with sharing of three people in per room but you don't share the fees. Each individual pay 80000 for hostel. Hostel food is average like other hostel so it’s better to eat outside but the food was not that much bad.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college infrastructure was good; the campus was pretty big and peaceful for who enjoy the silence. It was eco friendly environment and there were so many trees around the campus. There are so many building for each streams such as for arts, science, physiotherapy, agriculture, PG, engineering, and law. So there is no shortage for buildings for the students. For sports person it has cricket, tennis, and volleyball ground available. College has 4 canteens so there no worry about the infrastructure.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is pretty bad in this college because their main concern is the studies, placements, and the other activates. If you are the person who thinks about college for cultural, fun and other things this is not college for you.
