Modern College of Arts Science and Commerce eligibility criteria is minimum 60% in 12th standard

Modern college of Arts, Science and Commerce Pune-05 (MCASC) is a prestigious college in Pune and one of the best colleges in Pune. Along with decent infrastructure it also provides quality education. Annually various events, programs and activities are conducted for boosting engagement among students. Overall considering MCASC for your Graduate and post-graduate studies would be advantageous.

Students securing above 60% in 12th boards are eligible for applying in MCASC. The admission is merit based however entrance exams are conducted for admission in certain departments. Application forms are available on the official website of the college. The admission is confirmed after securing a position in merit list which is also displayed on the college website. Exams are of moderate level with Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) (30 marks) being MCQ based Exam held Mid-Sem and End Semester Examination (ESE) (60 marks) which is both subjective and MCQ based test. Every semester a 10 marks assignment is given for internal assessment. Therefore in total out of 6 papers each paper carry 100 marks. One should opt for B.Sc Microbiology if interested in microbial world and research based on it.

The faculty members are highly knowledgeable and expert in their respective fields. The faculty staff is helpful and makes an effort to engage with students and their queries both inside and outside the classroom. Most of the faculty members have a minimum qualification of M.Sc Microbiology along with qualifying in competitive exams like SET, NET, GATE, etc. While some faculty members are Ph.D students. Teaching style is excellent with usage of advanced technologies and simplifying complex topics to make them easier to understand.

Unfortunately there are not many placements in MCASC for B.Sc Microbiology but every year a placement drive is conducted in collaboration with government recognised and renowned organization and foundations.

The college provides hostel for outstation students in very minimum fees. The infrastructure is moderate with canteen and mess facility.

The college infrastructure is moderate. Honestly speaking, academically this is a good college but when it comes to infrastructure don’t expect much. There is a lack of classrooms compared to the intake of students. A canteen, gym, sports complex, auditoriums, and a sports ground is also available in the campus. There's a lack of space for parking as well. However the instruments used in the departments are excellent and are technically advanced.

Unfortunately there are no clubs in the college. Campus environment is excellent and discipline is maintained strictly in the college premises. Annually certain fun events such as Vyapar Mela are held to boost entrepreneurship and leadership qualities in students. Annual gathering is also held. Independently individual department conducts fun events such as Microcosm and Zoovision which has fun experience overall.
