My Views on NIT Rourkela

Overall Rating
Currently, I am a pre-final year student of NIT Rourkela. Within these 3 year I had the best moments of my life. The campus is very beautiful and large, having the 2nd biggest campus after IIT Kharagpur. The club culture here is very good too. Every year three main fests like Cosmopolitan, Innovosion and Vriddhi the sports fest are organized and enjoyed.
 

Academics Rating
Most of the Engineering branches are available here, from CSE to Life Science and Ceramic Engineering. For B.Tech you can get admission through the JEE exam. Students also take admission here for MBA, for this you have to give the CAT exam and then you have to give an interview. For M.Tech you have to give the GATE exam to get enrolled here.
 

Faculty Rating
I am from the Chemical Engineering department. Honestly speaking, the faculties here are not that supportive. They only care about the students that they like. The faculties are highly qualified professors but when it comes to teaching they are like scientists. If you want to get good marks you should sit on the front bench.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, my institute has their own placement cell here. The placement coordinator works really hard to bring companies. They help a lot during the placement session too. They give prior training for placement interviews and OT.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, we have around 11 hostels with 2 still under construction. The hostels here are very good. They provide study rooms, indoor games and other facilities like a library and TV rooms. But the caretakers don’t do their work properly.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure here is very good. This institute has one of the most attractive campuses in India. The campus is totally green. Indoor and outdoor games are available. We have a swimming pool as well as good cricket and football stadiums.
 

Campus Rating
Overall, the campus life here is cheerful. Canteens are open till midnight. Various fests are organized and enjoyed here such as the ‘Celebrity Night’. This campus has almost 8000 students, so it is always crowd here. Lots of canteens and plazas are here where you can enjoy tasty dishes. The campus has a good night life. You can roam in the campus till 2 at night.

    In an overall view, my institute, NIT Rourkela, is a perfect university with an area of 1,200 acres including many more splendid scenic views and amazing water bodies.     NIT Rourkela has a very old campus as it is about 50 years old but still the infrastructure is so good. It has the best library in the Rourkela; we can have a lot of stuff like books and research articles. In a year I explored everything in the campus and I like to play cricket here....     I study in NIT Rourkela. I started my journey in 2024. It is an amazing experience for me. The environment and the campus area are too good.     Our institute named National Institute of Technology, Rourkela is one of the best institutes, which I have come across until now. It has NIRF ranking 02 in India among the list of NITs.
