University of Lucknow BCA Review By Ayush Singh

University of Lucknow is situated near the banks of river Gomti and is one of the most beautiful and old institutes in the state, which is also a heritage of Lucknow. University currently has 2 campuses, one in Badshahganj near Hazratganj and the second one in Jankipuram, Lucknow. University of Lucknow provides top educational facilities in the state and has a large number of highly professional and knowledgeable professors and teachers along with lab assistants. Life at the university is also very appealing and the atmosphere in the campus is also very nice. The campus itself gives an ancient vibe, but is very well equipped with technological advancements required for students to study in a much better way. The hostel of the campus is also very accommodating and has a much secure atmosphere to live, along with supportive friends who make the college life much more interesting and happier. I am currently in my third year of BCA and I am happy to share that I am a part of this college. Students from across the world like Singapore, Japan, South Africa, Dubai, etc. come here to complete their higher studies and I would also say that it is one of the best cities in the country to live and study in.

University of Lucknow provides a wide range of courses for students all across the country and for foreign students also, such as BA, B.Sc, BCA, B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, MA, B.Arch, B. Pharm, Agriculture, and many more. They have a large number of professors who are highly trained and knowledgeable in their fields of studies and are very professional towards delivering quality education to students. To get admission in Engineering courses, you have to clear the entrance exam of the University which is held in the campus itself of its affiliated colleges. Along with this you have to appear in JEE Advance with a score more than 60 percentile. For Law also you will have to clear the qualifier test of University and for all courses as well. The course structure is changed almost every year with respect to the New Education Policy (NEP) and is very detailed in nature. Each course has their eligibility requirements which the students willing to take part in must fulfill. I would suggest that if you are searching quality education along with a place filled with opportunities, you should definitely enroll in the programs provided by the University of Lucknow.

Both the campuses of University of Lucknow has brilliant knowledgeable professors as our faculty which are very hard working and provide top notch education to students from all across the country. The faculty if very supporting in nature and helps students in their journey in the college. The faculty provides opportunities for students to apply for internships, quizzes, hackathons, competitions, and many more, so that the students can showcase their talents and succeed in life.

The old Campus has a placement committee called Central Placement Cell (CPC), which takes care of the campus placements of the old campus by inviting companies, conducting interviews, training students for interviews and coding rounds. The new campus which is situated in Jankipuram has a separate placement cell which is called Training and Placement Cell which works under the CPC but is independent of their actions. The TPC and CPC both work very efficiently to guarantee placements to students. I was myself a part of the TPC for 2 years and I will be honest that they worked really hard to ensure that the students get placed and secure their future. Under the leadership of talented placement heads, the placement rate has increased for TPC and CPC both in the past 6 years with international companies coming to recruit the students to use their talents in their companies.

Hostels in both the campuses are used to accommodate distant students. These hostels have great facilities and a very friendly hostel life. The food, bedding, air conditioning and security of the hostels are exemplary and very good to stay at. The prices for the hostels annually are also less as compared to other private colleges. Overall facilities are good and have a large number of hostel rooms to accommodate large number of students easily.

Maintenance work was going on in both the campuses for the buildings and entry gate, which by now I think is completed. The entry gates of the new campus are reconstructed which are very beautiful and showcases the beauty of the university. The faculty of Pharmaceuticals has recently been established in the campus. Old campus has a very unique and ancient architecture that is very well fitted with modern technology and old artistry.

The campus life for day scholars and hostellers are very different as they both have different friend groups sometimes but mostly are very fun to live with. Hostellers have a wide range of activities to indulge after their classes are over and day scholars enjoy their day to the fullest here. I myself wait for holidays to end so that I can go to college again and I must admit that campus life in University of Lucknow is one of the best experiences that any student can get. This is also called the golden days of a student’s life. Overall the college is very nice and any student thinking to study in University of Lucknow should just go for it.
