St. Xavier's College B.A Review By Ankita Kumari

My overall experience in this college is bitter-sweet. But I can say that it was very fruitful for me as I have learned a lot of things not only through my course but throughout my college life. From the teaching staff to other extracurricular activities, everything had its own antiquity to it. I remember the first day entering the college with great enthusiasm and excitement and the last day as memorable and emotional. The faculties provided in the college, as per my experience in my department are among the best I ever had. They are very experienced and hard working and give proper guidance and knowledge. Though it is not a very big campus but I have beautiful memories to cherish. The friends I made, achievements, and opportunities I got are very appreciating. The name and fame of this college is what made me choose it along with support for different talent and extracurricular activities. I would definitely suggest students to take admission in the college if they want to learn a lot of things and if they are competitive enough.

The overall academic review for this college I would say is excellent. The course was of 3 years and selection was done in merit basis. Now there are entrance exams. Eligibility is about 50% marks in boards and passing the cut-off in the entrance. My motive for enrolling in this program was to get knowledge about literature from the best faculty. It is because of the standard curriculum and experienced faculty. The curriculum is designed in such a way that it evolves a student's overall performance through every semester. A student who understands the syllabus and curriculum and will be consistent in his academics would surely excel. My academics journey was very impressive. Each semester I gave my best and increased my grade through hard work. All this was only possible through the guidance of my department's faculty and their support. They always solved my doubts without even asking for it. They are so well-versed with everything and with students that they know what behavior and reaction is required.

The faculty members teaching my course, that is English Honours, were overall, very intriguing and excellent. They gave their all in our learning process. All of the teachers have almost a scholarly and strong background. They all are very experienced and knowledgeable. Their style of teaching is such that they match the pace and behavior of almost every students and teach accordingly. The engagement and creativity in teaching is what I liked the most throughout the course. Each of the faculty had their own unique style of teaching. Professors and teachers were like a mentor and guide to us as well. Our HOD was one of the finest. She has a doctorate degree in literature that shows in her top-notch teaching style. So, I can say that the faculty here is one of the best things about the college.

Yes, we do have a well-functioning placement cell at the college. It has helped a lot of students and is continuously helping to acquire jobs in various industries. Anyone pursuing a technical, financial degree in the college has the most opportunities for placements. Every year different industries and companies visit and look for young talents with genuine skill. Those who work hard and are competitive are lucky enough to grab the opportunity instantly. The details of placements are always updated time to time and resources are also provided for application processes and preparations.

The college has hostels provided only for the boys belonging to ST / SC category. Through acquaintances, I can say the hostels are good. The facilities, hostel life and infrastructure are pleasing and peaceful.

The infrastructure of our college is very beautiful and eye-catchy. The buildings and fields, sheds and canteens, everything around has a unique edge to it. The different academic blocks in the campus are very intelligently designed so that it is easy to find every way. It never happens that you are lost in a maze. The complete structure of the campus is I can say art. The distance from every building to field and other recreational spots are easy to avail. There are total 3 canteens in the campus, each providing different cuisines and drinks and a cozy environment. The sports amenities of the college are also very well developed especially for basketball and football. The infrastructure of this college is also one of the reasons of my attraction towards it.

My experience of campus life in this college has been a great one. It is my heartfelt and honest review that I cherish my college memories so much. Honestly, the campus is not that big. However, it has everything s student would like to have in a college. From great academic buildings, to perfect sports area, delicious food-serving canteens and other spots for hanging out with friends. My favorite spots at the college were the volleyball court and canteen. Attending a long session of classes, the campus revives our energy back. I always used to spent time at evening after my classes in the college. I can say I have used the facilities of my college very well. I played different sports and took part in events. Visited every known and unknown spots of the campus and had a lot of fun. The crowd in the college is moderate but high in different occasions. Different clubs are also organized every year. Each department has their own creative clubs and fests being organized often, welcoming new members. Other engagement activities include sports competition which is highly popular in the college. Various inter-college competitions also take place in the campus. This is one of best aspects of our college that I liked being a sports inclined person. Hence, I can say that there are a plethora of opportunities for each student of the college to showcase their unique talent and skills and get recognised. It is a dream college for many, and those who have admitted are some of the opportunity grabbers.
