Hostel Life at Kanoria PG Mahila Mahavidyalaya

My overall experience at Kanoria PG Mahila Mahavidyalaya was average. I joined the college in 2021 to pursue UG degree. I have done Bachelor in Arts. Talking about the college campus and infrastructure, it is spacious having different grounds and areas for different sports and activities. The classrooms are below average, as the strength of students was always more than the number of seats. I consider the faculty to be good as they were helpful well qualified and rate then 3.5 on 5.

For my course, the eligibility criterion is to have minimum 60 percent in HSC. It is a 3-year course. The course curriculum is diverse, covering all the required and important points. The college covers almost all the subject in Arts, including all the major subjects such as Geography, History, Political Science, Economics, Psychology, and many more. You have to select a set of any three subjects in which you wish to complete your graduation. Apart from BA course, the college also provides degree in BA (Hons.) in 4 subjects: Psychology, Political Science, Economics, and Geography. The college is affiliated to Rajasthan University. The final examination every year will be conducted by RU. As the college is semi-government

The fee is minimal. I paid around Rs 15,000 to Rs. 25,000 per year.

The faculty at the college is very qualified and they are hired based on their merit and NET results. It is mandatory for them to clear the NET examination. My interaction with the teachers was not so good but also not so bad. There is no doubt that the teachers are helpful but due to high strength. It becomes difficult to interact with them at first. Teaching style is good. Teachers conduct regular classes and conduct practical on regular basis. They will complete your syllabus before time. Apart from academics, it is the duty of the teachers to manage different clubs and activities were conducted on regular basis among different departments.

Very few placements are provided by the college. I hope the college has improved its placement services and rate. The year I passed, only two companies visited the campus. The first one is Genpact and the second one is a BPO.

I was not a student who enrolled in the hostel but I can surely provide you a review of the hostel as my friends were living there. The rooms were average. You have to share the room with one roommate. In the room you will get, 2 beds, 2 study tables, 2 cupboards. The facilities were shared with the roommate. You will get 2 washroom areas on each floor, which are sufficient in number. Talking about mess, you get the choice of choosing what would you like to have on weekly basis, a list is prepared by the seniors and given to the cook. He follows the list and the food will be prepared according to that only. You need to compromise with the taste sometimes. You can enjoy many hostel activities. The seniors were co-operative during my time.

The college campus was not so big but it was quite spacious. There are two main Buildings in the campus, one is completely dedicated to the Law department, and the other building is the main where all the other courses are conducted. At the front, you will find the office windows and reception where you can visit anytime during the college hours to resolve any queries regarding course, fees, examination etc. The library in the college is quite big and maintained properly where you can find all books required by you. There are 3 grounds in the college for sports and cultural events and one inner garden. The college also has an open gym and a nursery. There is a block for canteen and near to that is the parking area.

The campus life was above average. You have optimal options for pastimes. The college does conduct various events, inter-college and intra-college events. There were yearly events are- Kasturi and Saga where students get chance to display their skills and talents. Apart from big events, seminars and webinars were frequently conducted. Every year, there was an event of 3-day exhibition and stall, which was managed beautifully, where students can set up their stalls and can earn money.
