World College of Technology and Management M.Tech Review By Sahil Singh

I studied at WCTM from 2018 to 2020 and can say that it is one of the most reasonable colleges coming around. By reasonable I meant fees as it was just 50k fees a year. Looking at the campus I thought that the teaching and other facilities in college would be galvanic but to my disappointment it was pathetic. Admission criteria is simple because not many people get admitted to this college as they consider this college stupid. They are right though because the college is the worst and I will write all the worst point which everyone who has studied their will justify. First things first, the college website says that the college is in Gurgaon. Really? The college is in a village and the closest village is Musshedpur. I stayed near Cyber city and after nearly 40-45 minutes of travel I used to see the college gate which was bigger than the sets of SS Rajamouli. The college buildings are no less than an amusement park. I will explain in the next sections how the college traps students.

First two weeks, it was a princely treatment where the people from management will show you, this is your classroom, this is your library, and this is sport ground. Two weeks later, you will find no one in the class. If you think of going to the library for self-study, I am sorry but you won’t be allowed as they will have some stupid reasons and entry will be restricted. What we generally here from student is that we just attended 10-15 classes this semester but here at WCTM, teachers used to have such gossip that we took just 15-20 lectures this semester and still completed the portion.

Dare you ask any question to them and then you will see their other side. The other side is quite dangerous because it will result in you never getting good marks even after doing the best. Do you want to take that risk? I never took it and will request to the ones who are trapped in this university to never take that risk. We get question papers well before the exams and that can help us score. We should thank from the bottom of our heart to the faculty for that. I certainly do as I passed my M. Tech with excellent grades but still no placements.

This again was the biggest trap as they will show up some students that these students have made our college proud as they got a job worth X amount that will blow up your mind. In reality placements are non-existent here and you fetch a job by yourself as you have an M. Tech degree to boast. Shameful on WCTM for playing with the future of the students. Less fees has trapped one and many and I would request students to please share their thoughts as well on which ever platform they can.

WCTM has a nice boys and a nice girls hostel but I have already stayed at a remote location during my UG and couldn’t have afforded anymore during my PG. I stayed in the main city and college was 18 miles from my place but travelling was still affordable because staying in the hostel was beyond me by this time. Hostel was good as rooms were spacious and was shared by two and had attached washrooms. There were not many restrictions as students can go out as the so-called water tight security was quite easy to bribe. There were enough facilities inside the campus but less than what Gurgaon city has to offer.

Infrastructure has played the biggest role in trapping students. The glass buildings and nicely maintained grounds and gymnasium, admission office made me go awe for the college. It wasn’t just me but the entire strength of the college that got trapped by the beauty of the college. Looks can be deceptive and yes infrastructure of WCTM was definitely deceptive. There were two canteens at the campus along with a CCD outlet. Bunking the classes and sipping coffee is what we did for two years, so CCD more often than not had discounts going on. Even if they haven’t provided us with those, we would have still been there. The ground was fantastic but I hardly saw students playing there. I don’t know the reason but I never felt like playing while doing M. Tech but what about the students who did graduation from there. In our graduation days we spent enough time on the field but just like the library, I think the entry to the ground was also conditional.

Oh, my boy it was one of the best as we hardly had to study. We were called only on important days and were asked to do some assignments as they would go to Ambala to the main University. Papers were mostly set by our teachers so we knew what was coming. Where else on earth can you have such luxury? Thus, campus life was so easy and fun filled that I wish life could have been the same even today.
