Great medical school based on the idea of empowering women in medicine. As a student at this esteemed medical college, I had an incredibly positive experience as it has contributed to my growth both academically and personally. It offers a unique environment that is focused on empowering girls. As a pioneer batch student I experience a lot of advantages.

The academics are very good, providing a rigorous and comprehensive education that equips students with knowledge and skills necessary in the medical field. The college runs from 8 ‘o’ clock in the morning till 4:30 in the evening, in which there’s a lunch break of an hour in between. The schedule is pretty hectic, but as a medical student of course there are many hurdles to cross and all the hard work is to become an excellent doctor. You may experience some setbacks regarding the guest lecturers some of which we are forced to attend but it depends on the individual how much bothersome it could be. We have lectures in the morning and then there are clinical postings in which the students are divided into groups and posted into different departments. The patient inflow is adequate allowing students to learn and observe almost every common illness and many rare ones which they study in there textbooks. Students get to experience many new approaches in wards, OPDs and OT. But I may tell you the academics are very strict and you may get detained for non attendance of lectures and clinics. The ICMR projects are done here where you get a mentor which is the faculty of college itself.

The faculty is exceptional. They are not only experts in their respective fields but are dedicated mentors deeply invested into student’s welfare. The faculty is quite approachable except for some circumstances. Clinical as well as the paraclinical faculty both are equally good. They ensure that no student is left unattended. They solve both academic and social problems of the students and assure them to do well.

The hostel facility can be doubtful. Three students share one room. The pros are that the infrastructure wise the rooms and hostel is good and well equipped. It has separate beds and study tables for each individual and the cleaning staff cleans the room regularly every day. It has scenic window views and the balcony is attached which is shared between two rooms given with space to hang clothes. Wardrobe for every student, hot water facility, water purifier installed on alternate floors, immediate repairs in case of some kind of damage, and many other facilities are also available here for the students. Whereas, some cons are that the drinking water supply is disrupted sometimes though it is resolved in 2 to 4 days, room can be a bit small for sharing in 3 students. As per the NMC, final year students should get separate rooms which are not given. The mess food is not so good sometimes. Study space is not adequate outside the room. Common rooms which we had earlier were well equipped with a fridge, induction microwave. Play area is now converted into dormitory for other courses students. The hostel is not exclusively for medical college students as claimed during admissions, other courses students also live here. The mess is very crowded all the time.

The infrastructure is also extremely beautiful. Wi-Fi facilities are provided to the students. Services in hospitals are available such as OPD, Casualty, ICU, OT, CCL, Radiological, RT PCR labs, etc. A total of 605 beds and 9 major OTs are available in the hospital.

It is commendable. It fosters mutual support among students. The college offers many extracurricular activities and student organisations that promote personal development, further enhancing the overall educational experience. The campus is extremely beautiful, based on lavale hill base. The moment you step onto the campus you are greeted by lush green surrounding and picturesque views that make you forget all the stress. There are numerous outdoor sitting areas where students can enjoy fresh air.
