World College of Technology and Management M.Tech Review By Chetan Kumar

This is one name that I wish I could erase from my life. Aiming for higher studies, I came to Gurgaon along with some of my friends from previous college to shape the future. Who knew that we are here just to kill two years of our life. The university was not that famous but every day we saw ad and decided to have a look. Look was such that I convinced my parents to send me here. They obliged and even today I can’t tell my parents that it was nothing but a waste. The name is World College of Technology and Management and if it was in my hands, I would have named the college world of ignorance. The teachers didn’t care about the students. The top brass didn’t about the teachers and the one who suffered because of this were the students. Once you go to the college and register your number the admission counselor will keep calling you and tell good things about the college. I don’t know what happened to me then that I took admission at such a worse college.

Education was not even zero at WCTM. It was in minus because I don’t think I learned anything new during my M.Tech years and I am still at where I left from B. E. The books had so much content but hardly any practical application of that was taught to us. The college is affiliated to M. D. University which was in my hometown and still I chose to come here as I though this college is the upgraded version of that. Lesser fees and higher promises lead me here and I hope that authorities do take some action against this college because the college is simply good for nothing.

All the faculty’s combined IQ was lesser than a single faculty of Delhi or some other prestigious university. They hardly took any classes and if by chance you have asked them some question then you are immediately entering their bad books. The consequences of that will be seen after the exams. Assignments were given and we were asked to submit a detailed report of that. Few intelligent people were there in the college and we would sit beside them and do those assignments and faculty even after knowing that almost all have submitted the same theories would applaud our efforts. This was the real condition of the faculty of WCTM and I hope my review bring some light on the situation of the college.

During orientation, we were assured that last year students got so and so package. You people are here to break such records. Trust me that was the only time felt motivated at the college because in the name of placements only a few companies came and they probably had their candidates in sight whom they signed after interviewing for 10 minutes. We didn’t even given a chance and all we were told was that you will easily find a job in market because the college has a great reputation. I even didn’t know this college before seeing the ad and I don’t know any if they still know about this college. This was not all as in March the lockdown happened and in a video conference the principal sent a nice message that due to pandemic, we couldn’t have campus placements. The campus placement happened much before lockdown and still the excuse coming was so surprising as if they would have done something for us.

Hostel was nice but the college is located in a village where 3G network is the highest that you will get. I had to convince my parents that you will never be able to call me if I stay at the hostel. This probably made them emotional and they allowed me to stay in Gurgaon. For those who are first timers can stay at the hostel because hostel facilities were better but you have to have your own vehicle or else you will be stuck in the village where you will have Dhabas that will only serve you Parathas even at midnight.

Mind blowing to be honest. All the money that the management had they invested in building the campus which looked like an IT building. Everyday there were over 20 sweepers cleaning the premises and making sure that if anyone see the campus, they should make an effort to come and see it from inside. In the village where the college is located, the campus is probably the only silver lining. Canteen was great and so was the coffee outlet of CCD. Sporting facilities were there for show-off because there was ground but no kits. When I asked the authorities, they said you can bring your own kits if you want to play. What rubbish but to hell with them because I didn’t cared after a point.

Coming to the college daily was not compulsory as we had our friends who would inform us. Full time M. Tech became a part time M.Tech for me and because I only have awful memory of the campus, I don’t think I should remember them again and spoil my mood. I hope my review is spread and people come to know that there is a college that is nothing but a waste.
