Studies at CBIT may not be the best but there are quite a few things that you can do at CBIT which you probably can’t do anywhere else. The university attained an autonomous status in 2013 and we were among the first batch of autonomous students. In providing facilities to the students, CBIT is the best. In terms of placement CBIT is the best in entire state. Other than CSE branch though students have issues as some of the MED (Mechanical Engineering Department) were completely outdated. Even the sporting facilities aren’t that great because the basketball court was too slippery and many injuries happened. However, amid all the chaos one thing that stood out was that college supported student in pursuing things of their interest. Other than learning, dancing, music, sports activities, fests, clubs, etc. everything was there. If you want to understand life join the clubs of the college and know yourself better. If you want to become a bookworm, then CBIT is not for you.

Attendance wasn’t that compulsory as most of the students here have come to enjoy the college life. One thing for sure that you study for just a week before the exams, you may get passing grades and that was enough to make sure that college arrange some sort of placements for you. This message was passed on from our seniors to us and we kept the tradition going on. Practical were done on Friday and Saturday and that were the only days when one can witness the entire strength of the class.

Hyderabad in general has produced the best faculties as you can go to any university and you will find faculties from Hyderabad. What one doesn’t know is that we have kept the best for us as faculty members of CBIT were the best. Live and let live may be their phenomena but would show up and stand tall against the ones they should. Never harassed students for attendance and were quite ok with students bunking and staying in the campus and doing fun. They will notice everything though as in CSE practical subjects have a nice weightage and all the fun that students did under the nose of the faculty was shown in the numbers given by the faculty for practicals. Faculty aren’t scary but the ones who keeps their cards close to their chest.

From L&T, Wipro to Capgemini, all the big names from the world of IT to others have been partners of the college for a long time. A private engineering college offering packages worth 5 lakhs above is great as all the students who had all their papers clear till the 6th semester were supported duly by the placement cell. Average package may be 5 LPA but some of the students even bagged the placement worth 20 LPA. Placements of CBIT are at par with any IIT or NIT of the country.

CBIT has a large boys hostel and a tiny girls hostel inside the campus. The boys hostel had the capacity of over 1000 students while the girls hostel allowed just nearly 200 odd girls. The boys’ hostel had various kinds of rooms from single seater to double and triple seater rooms but girls’ hostel rooms were allotted on double sharing. Boys’ hostel had washrooms on each floor and only the single rooms had attached washrooms. The condition of the hostel was a pity one as there were hardly any rules and students did all that they wanted to inside the hostel premises.

Campus size of the college is 90 acres and it is one of the largest private colleges of the city. The college had over 100 labs and for CS department they were the best but for rest of the department the labs were quite poor. We had two wooden badminton courts as it symbolizes the city’s love affair with the sport. We have produced two Olympic medalists in this sport and both of them have been our guest of honors. Other than badminton court there was a basketball court which has given more injuries than baskets. Volleyball ground was used for playing football as the net of the court was badly torn and college didn’t even sponsor us a net. There was a huge cricket ground along with a separate common ground for girls. The campus has multiple canteens and auditorium and a garden where stage was laid whenever celebrities have come to the college. Infrastructure was mix as for me it was decent while some called it outdated.

Among many clubs two of the best clubs of the colleges were Chaitanya Sudhee and Chaitanya Seva. Both these clubs have a decent reach and have let people come out of their comfort zones. This is what we join college for and being a part of these two and various other clubs made my campus life a one to remember for a long time.
