My View of VIMSAR Sambalpur

Overall Rating
VIMSAR is a Government Medical College, where they offer many courses like MBBS, BDS, PhD, Nursing, and all. It is located at the heart of Sambalpur, Burla. The faculty here are very friendly and were always ready to teach and help us in any way possible. They share their experience and work and publish many papers throughout the year. This year our own faculty published and patented around 3 papers of their own. The labs are also modern and instructors and doctors are very friendly. The campus is ragging free.
 

Academics Rating
Academics is going to be little bit tough as you would have 4 exams each year; two mid sem and two end sem exams. There will be sectional exams too. Make sure you give maximum time in library as the books are going to help you massively to ace you exams and sectionals.
 

Faculty Rating
VIMSAR Sambalpur’s instructors are incredibly helpful and committed to their work. They are quite professional and amiable. Our educational course is excellent for future it is relevant. The tests are not very easy, they are bit on the tougher side as it demands studying the theory and understanding all the practical classes.
 

Placement Rating
You have to work as an intern in your 4th or 5th year. According to your performance in internship, you can also opt for working under any registered doctor or professor in the department. After successfully completing the internship, you will be sent to other government hospitals to work and slowly gain experience.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are good and well ventilated. 4 seater rooms are compulsory for 1st year. However, around after 1st year, you could apply for 2 and 4 seater rooms. They have same accommodation for PhD students also. 24/7 running water and electricity is provided. Also the mess workers are good and help you in cleaning. Every hostel have its own student store to purchase daily necessities. Night canteen is available in hostel too or we can go to the patient ward. It is free for students of the college.
 

Infrastructure Rating
It is a 150 acre campus with all the basic facilities. There are 14-15 of buildings with separate building for each department. The labs have their own building. They have blood bank, testing labs, morgue, and different digital classroom and in total 6 hostels.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is quite good here as most of the things readily are available to us. It is a lush green and big campus. However, being a Medical College, extracurricular activities are less. I highly recommend it to the students who want to have best academic experience.
