AKS University BCA Review By Sakshi Kushwaha

I am currently pursuing a BCA in Computer Science at AKS University, now an in my 5th Semester. I chose this university because my parents preferred me to stay closer to home. The faculty is supportive, and study environment is quite good. On the other hand, networking with seniors can be highly beneficial as some academic activities like projects, internship, how to prepare for the jobs need their reviews. It’s important not to focus solely on academics but also build connections with faculty and seniors for a smoother experience.

I came from a Commerce background. For students from streams like Commerce or Biology, BCA is a great option to enter into the IT field without having Maths requirements because B.Tech needs a Math as a compulsory subject in your 12th standard. The eligibility criteria are simple: just a 12th grade pass from any stream and with the 60% and a passion for learning about Computers and Software Technologies. With dedication, BCA can opens doors to opportunities in top tech companies, making it an ideal choice for those looking to pivot into IT. When I was in my first semester, I started with C programming, followed by C++ and C# in the second semester, and later Java. After that, I moved into web development.

While the faculty is knowledgeable and supportive. Teachers are there to guide you and correct you, but success in today's competitive world requires going beyond the syllabus.

Yes, AKS University does have a placement cell. It's important to remember that the placement cell alone may not guarantee job the placement. Success often comes from going beyond the syllabus and gaining practical experience. Engaging actively with the placement cell, while also focusing on building practical skills, can significantly enhance your chances of securing a job in the industry.

The university has hostels for boys and girls with the basic amenities such as furnished rooms, common areas and study rooms. I don't know much about hostels as I am a day scholar but my some friends stay there. So I can say that the facilities are good in the AKS hostel. There is hygienic food and meal will be provided to all the students.

There are a five blocks in AKS university for now. My class is held in E block, where the classrooms are well-structured with adequate seating space and lighting. There is a library in my block. Apart from this, there is a central library in the campus which is stocked with almost all types of reading and study material along with digital resources. The transportation is also available. The laboratories are available for all students of Computer Science, Engineering and Biotechnology department. The campus is supported by Wi-Fi for the laptop in computer labs not to student personal use and on-campus medical services are also available.

The campus features modern academic blocks with well-equipped lecture halls, interactive classrooms, and specialized laboratories for hands-on learning. Recreational facilities include a sports complex with various sports amenities, cultural hall for events.
