Vivekananda College B.Com Review By Rounak Dutta

Vivekananda College is one of the best colleges in Kolkata to pursue degree in Science and Commerce. The college has the best infrastructure, faculty members, best teachers, big library, hygienic canteens and many more. After completion of my higher secondary education, I opted for Commerce stream and filled the college form of Vivekananda College. I got selected from the second list selection process. I chose this college as it is near my house and I will get good time to study after returning from college.

I have taken Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) as my main stream. I love Maths and I like subjects like statistics, that’s why I have taken this stream. It is my dream to become a CA in future. I am also studying very hard to qualify the CA examination. To get into this college, you should have good HS marks of around 80-96% for a general category student and varies for other categories for example, for SC, it is around 70-80 % for OBC, and for the ST it is 60-70%. The selection is from the list the colleges deliver in their website the names that are on the list they get admission. There are 4-5 lists that the college delivers. The college takes around 120+ students for the B.Com course.

I am enjoying every moment of my college life in this college. All the students of every stream are good friends of each other. They gossip, eat and spend their time together in the common room where they play carom, cards, etc. The seniors are very friendly and supportive. They help us in studying preparing for semesters. Our college holds the annual fest called ‘Magnus’, where some big singers perform and students can also give perform various performances. The seniors hold the Freshers’ program for the new comers.

Vivekananda College has one of the best infrastructure. The college has a big administrative block and some two to three buildings for the classes. In the administrative block the official works are done in that building we got the dean office the scholarship sections etc. The building are very furnished and painted. Inside of the college there is a basketball court and beside the college there is a big ground to play cricket and football. The college has two great canteen of good taste and hygiene. The college has a big central library there lots of books of best authors are there.
