While searching for M. Tech in IT, there were quite a few colleges in the state such as LNCT in Bhopal, SGSITS in Indore, and Madhav Institute of Technology in Gwalior. Fees and quality education were my biggest concern and therefore I did a lot of research before getting myself enrolled at SATI. The college is located in Vidisha which is around 60 kms from the capital Bhopal. The city is quite silent and one can feel the fresh air and that made an environment where we can have deep breath and concentrate on studies. SATI’s fees is quite less in comparison to the colleges that I have mentioned at the start. Along with that, SATI is known for its education for a long time. SATI is an old pedigree and the college is probably one of the best in the state.

Look academically the college is good but you will have to self motivate yourself. The college will guide you and will also give you the concepts that will help you grow. The book of 2000 pages will just have 400 pages meant for you and the college professors made sure that we learn them thoroughly. IT engineering is more of a practical learning and we were taken to labs and an incubation center which was installed at the college. Learning was fun here as on demand the professors would take us outdoor for classes.

The professors were not the best in terms of experience but were qualified enough to give us a thorough knowledge of the subjects. Unlike many colleges where professors throw or take challenges the professors of SATI were calm and cool headed. One can ask them same question 100 times and they will still not show any sign of frustration. For learning languages, extra coaching was required as the professors couldn’t spare extra time for that. The college hours were such that we could go out for coaching and Vidisha may be a small town but has some of the best coaching available.

The college may say that over 100 companies come but our entire batch had only two options, one was TCS and the other one was Wipro. The placements for M. Tech were around 7-10 LPA depending upon the expertise we had. 9 out of 10 students were placed and that means the ratio was also significant. After paying such nominal fees, getting such placements was no less than a dream. SATI is one of the best colleges when it comes to placements.

There are 3 boys' hostels and a girl's hostel at the campus. One hostel was exclusive for the PG students and students of MBA, ME and M.Tech departments used to share the same hostel. The hostel was old but the structure inside the hostel was beautiful. The hostel rooms were spacious and sharing them on twin basis made my stay comfortable. One concern that all hostellers have is of washrooms and fortunately the PG hostel had attached washrooms. The food was good but lacked variety as there were just 3-4 items for breakfast but importantly everything was eatable. Thus, hostel life and hostel quality both were amazing.

Infrastructure was 8 on 10 as the building and the campus was quite old. The area was quite lesser than MANIT but still big enough as there were enough open spaces in the campus. The campus has two admin blocks which are 100 meters from the college gate and equidistant from our hostel building. The campus has significant greenery but some of the trees have died down as they are all 70 years old. The campus has two big grounds and an indoor sporting area with 2 badminton courts. There are also two well maintained tennis courts inside the campus. The sporting facilities were great but the computer center was old and PCs too were old. I don’t know why many colleges have stopped spending on computer labs as they are main in computer colleges. Electricity is one of the main area of concern in the state and the college has installed a substation to help during the power cuts. There’s a branch of SBI inside the campus and also has a 24*7 ATM inside the campus.

Life at SATI was soothing as the college was quite open and there were many open spaces around. A tea stall close to the college was our best hangout area as all the students would gather there at least twice in a day. The college doesn’t boast a fancy crowd as there was a college uniform standard for all students. On the whole life at SATI was a good one as far from the city, one can enjoy a riverside life which is equally important.
