Overall Rating
Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, Thrissur is a good institute. It gives very good attention to the academics. One of the ranking private medical institutes in Kerala. The infrastructure is a little old but now, it is being renovated. there are 4 lecture halls with other facilities such as library, reading rooms, labs, etc.

Academics Rating
There are 3 internal exams, theory and practical in which you have to score well in order to gain eligibility for the university exam. 1st year is really tough and if you are not able to pass you will have to repeat the same year again (year back). 2nd year subjects are tough but there is no year back. 3rd year is very easy and 4th year is again really tough.

Faculty Rating
The faculties excluding a very few are extremely friendly and supportive. You get to be taught by highly qualified doctors. Each student is also assigned a mentor to discuss any academic or other issues in person as the course itself is a very challenging one.

Placement Rating
Placements are only through entrance exams and other criteria. As a house surgeon at Amala, you get paid 12-14 k per month.

Hostel Rating
Hostels rooms are in double sharing (few single rooms also available). Mess fee is separate that provides good food.

Infrastructure Rating
There are mainly 3 hospital blocks and institute block. The institute block has 4 lecture halls. The first year will be mostly entirely in the institute block. From the next year onwards, the students will get exposure to wards in the hospital blocks. Other than these, there is also library and reading room block.

Campus Rating
The campus is lively with the student council actively conducting many in house programs. Arts and sports fest and other festivity celebrations are organized for the entertainment of the students. The campus also has various clubs or social groups where the students can showcase their talents. The campus is very strict about attendance and we get very few holidays.
