College of Pharmacy B.Pharm Review By Sabaha

Our college provides a safe and quite environment for students. The faculties here are too supportive and helpful. We have little campus life to be honest but that doesn't mean we barely have programmes. Every year arts and sports are conducted also celebration like Onam, Christmas and Ifthar are also held. I have chosen this college since it is the nearest medical College from my home and I can be a day scholar. I would definitely recommend to the students in the Kannur district who has home sickness to join here. Otherwise a government medical College will be always my priority.

Bachelor's of pharmacy (B.Pharm) is a 4 year course. Exam are held semester wise therefore a total of 8 semester in 4 years. Each semester is followed by session exams which are held twice a year. A minimum cutoff for this has to be acquired by the students to appear for university exam. Our college is too strict in case of conducting exams and following the curriculum. College admission is based on KEAM score along with class twelfth score. Students enrolling via plus two marks have to appear for a face to face interview and then will be filtered for admission. Pharmacy course is definitely a job offering course in India as well as abroad. It has plethora of scope. If someone wishes to have further studies, pharmacy has master programmes as well as research programmes.

Faculties here are good, supportive and helpful to the students who are really into studies. They provide necessary information and also encourage the students to get information by referring books from library and all. Faculties here are with good qualification and knowledgeable about the subject. Teachers take class often by presentation and sometimes students too are involved by giving seminars. One and only negative I've to say is that when a subject doesn't have its faculty other teachers are in charge of the subject in which they're not specialised. In short faculties for particular subject are short at times since teachers join and resigns often unlike government colleges. In that case government medical College will always be a step higher.

Usually pharmacy college doesn't have placement as engineering college has, for example no companies would visit the college and hire student on the basis of their skills or CGPA.
The placement in pharmacy field is like after graduation that is after completing the course the student have to apply for job, they've to find themselves the job. Since plenty of jobs are available for pharmacy graduates there is little unemployment only in this field.
Graduates can either join in pharmacy as pharmacist or can join in industry. Top industries like Cipla, Lupin etc. hire graduates in their companies.

Our college provides hostel facility as well as PG. Hostel fees are around 8000 per month and the food is included. Hostel provide a safe environment to stay. Girls and boys have separate hostel inside the campus itself.

College has a library which has almost all books necessary for reference. It also has journals and papers regarding pharmacy field. Pharmacy college is little bit congested and not good looking. It could have been improved. The laboratory facilities are an average only. Reagents, chemicals and other necessary things run out at times which I felt has to be improved and sorted. Apparatus for the laboratory purposes are often too old and have issues.

Campus life is beautiful if we enjoy ourselves. it’s true that a professional college would never have programmes as like at least colleges have. Still programmes are held in college such as Onam, Christmas, Eid etc. Our college doesn't have club or crowd activities. interdepartmental tournaments are held often. NSS team is formed in our college with around 100 members volunteering for social activities.
