A hidden treasure in Himalayas

Overall Rating
I came to St Bede's College from Delhi so this college was my main goal while preparing for my boards. They have renowned faculty and impressive infrastructure. The admission process was quite difficult as I had to make reservations to stay nearby for my counseling duration. During my admission they only entertained offline admissions which were quite tiring but also interesting at the same time. Faculty was quite helpful in this scenario.
 

Academics Rating
I joined St Bede's College for masters in commerce as I was looking forward to become a chartered accountant and therefore this was my best bet. I had 4-6 periods daily with an hour or 2 hour break in between. By my third year I dropped my plan of chartered accountancy and started working on my maths and I changed my goal to be a lecturer. For which I decided to study further masters.
 

Faculty Rating
We had the best of teachers they were very helpful. They were supportive and would guide us with studies as well as they interacted with us to discuss our further goals in life and they would also provide counseling if required. Major of our subject teachers were aged and had greater experience but we also had some young lecturers who had great knowledge on the subject and some were better than the senior faculty. They were more broad minded.
 

Placement Rating
We would have yearly campus placement drives held at our campus though many big MNCs would come but there were more of call centers. I did not sit in any of the interviews as I wanted to pursue lectureship and was not interested to get into the corporate world. Our class topper was able to secure a job at the package of 8LPA. But mostly 90% did not get any placements in 2 years.
 

Hostel Rating
I lived in hostel for 2 years which were very difficult. I had a regular problem with food due to which I had to change to private residence in my last year. Rest rooms, hygiene and staff were very helpful and supportive all the time. The timings were there but if we had valid reasons we got to stay out late too. But there was not very much to do outside college so I stayed in everyday unless I had to go home on holidays. It's just the food was not for me.
 

Infrastructure Rating
St. Bede's has the most beautiful sight and infrastructure it looked no less than a hotel. My friends from city use to come visit and sight see my college. There were separate and various departments present all had their separate buildings too. Our playground was as huge as a whole mountain and we had the best time in our PTE periods. There is in built canteen and shops presents. Also many shops were close by the campus radius. We also had a separate hall for medical and emergency and a standby nurse was available 24x7.
 

Campus Rating
My 3 years in St Bede's College were my favorite years I had the best of times I made many himachali friends there and also from urban cities. I got to learn their language too. We had regular ongoing college fests I was also a very competitive in fashion modelling events I have also represented Bede in Clean and Clear Fresh Face of Himachal '19 I was the second runner up there. We also had various clubs at college and I was very active in all the curricular activities. Would love to relive the part again.

    My experience at St Bede's College, Shimla was challenging and fun at the same time. The shift from Rajasthan to Shimla was a dicey move but the college’s staff and Shimla’s residents made it easier to let me sink in with ease.
